Simply because it fulfills it's role of raising questions doesn't make it left wing.Bramley Tiger wrote:your description of the guardian is laughable.its about as central as the mirror.Flat Capper wrote:Just to clarify, The Sun is a Tory rag and the Daily Mail even more so; neither of which I would use to wipe my rear let alone read.
The Times (Sunday or otherwise) is also (currently) a Tory supporting rag and doesn't really reflect true independent journalism but is much better that the other two mentioned. The Guardian is a tad more neutral and tends to be central in its political direction.
Personally, I read The Yorkshire Post which is, and always has been, right of center but does focus on our region so it gets my subscription.

I don't know about you but Labour has sold out on Brexit to the detriment of Democracy and for what ? Just to gain power into number 10 and satisfy the rich Tories who want to remain due to European vested interests in making even more money (that's a reality that Labour does not even see!).
SHAMEFUL that's all what I can say !
Staying in a Customs Union does not give us the freedoms the majority voted for and they keep hiding under "in the interests of the country" Sorry, we voted for coming out and that should be a binding decision.
This country is in a total mess with people playing politics and this will have this country totally paralysed with the unelected House of Lords (Joke!) having sway on elected MPs - That's because these Lords jokers have vested interests in Europe and don't want to lose their control and keep make shed-loads of money at the expense of free and individual enterprise - They want a closed shop !
The people spoke and Majority should rule otherwise every election decision in theory could not be accepted by the same overturning principles.
Hopefully some common sense will prevail as I don't want power seeking Labour or Rich "[Cut out the swearing]" Tories dictating to the common people - it's time to take back control and get some fairness into politics - Am I right ? - You decide !
Please note I am bashing both sides here as the whole Political system is an absolute joke and needs sorting fairly.
For me it's time to take flight from the EU nest rather than stay in a "stick in the mud EU" with outdated practices - The world is rapidly changing and we need to leave to catch up with it as the EU will ultimately flounder. it's like being under Brussels Martial Law ! This country has never been a mouse being dictated to and it really angers me to see all these squeaky Remainer mice not having the balls to jump out of the EU cosy nest and take flight - There's a world of Opportunity out there !

Yes well if you haven't got anything constructive to say on my post apart from your observation which you haven't got an inkling on how to respond to, you'd best either put up or shut up !WF10 wrote:Uh-oh he's gone full blown swivel-eyed loon on us.

Disappointing local election results for the reds last night, maybe their supporters were too busy trying to work out their universal credit hand outs or playing bingo down at the club

You must be gutted, the result basically confirms Labour can’t win the next GE with the beardy commie at the helm. After 8 years of painful austerity the Labour Party still didn’t manage to make any kind of impression in a mid term local election. Happy days.

Re: Jeremy Corbyn new Labour leader Lol
Do you reckon the PLP would spend the four weeks before a general election trying to make Labour lose? They were prepared to sacrifice councillors to bring down Corbyn, but they soon fall into line when it's their seats up for grabs.
It's been a [REMOVED] of a month or so with all the attacks from the Labour MPs, the "antisemitism" and "pro-Russia" narrative over Syria being driven relentlessly. On top of that, most Labour councils and local Labour leaders are right wing austerity mongers that local electorates can only support because they're badged up as "Labour".
It's different in a GE.

Or do you think the electorate is waking up to that Michael (My Left) Foot "rave from the grave" commie carbon copy "Corbyn" being now found out that a high office of PM is way too risky for all to trust him with this nation's security !!!!
You lot should be getting him ousted in favour of Yvette Cooper who did a great job on Rudd last week and give you lot a chance of getting back in - Corbyn will be your demise sorry to say !
May in the Commons the other day did a great job on Corbyn about council tax increases when he tried to make May look stupid pointing out that a Con led council is half the price than a labour led council over the road and with greater efficiency - his face said it all !!
He needs pensioning off just like they did to Michael Foot in days gone by !

Re: Jeremy Corbyn new Labour leader Lol
Erm, I just had a look at the results:
* Labour take 600 more seats than the Tories
* Labour hold twice as many councils
* Labour make gains, Tories hoover up UKIP vote and STILL make losses
* Labour had a huge swing to take Plymouth Council in the true blue South West
* Labour took Kirklees, a council we haven't held since 1999
* Labour has the best result in London since 1971
* In Westminister and Wandsworth, Labour has more seats than at any time since 1986
* Labour hold a record number of seats in Croydon, Ealing, Redbridge and Waltham Forest
* Labour failed to take Barnet - yet Labour have NEVER won Barnet under any leader
* Labour are the largest party in Trafford, meaning the Tories now hold no councils at all in Greater Manchester.
Anything to add?

Re: Jeremy Corbyn new Labour leader Lol
I think the general consensus of the pundits was that neither party would win a general election based on those results.
However, the overriding political shift appears to have been the right wing UKip voters moving back to their spiritual home of the Tory party.

Record people in employment, real wages increasing and the FTSE100 at an all time high - we’ve never had it so good! Thanks to the Conservative Party, the natural party of government and the only party where the economy is in safe hands. The last ‘there is no money left’ Labour government is thankfully a distant memory but it should never be forgotten and they should never be allowed anywhere near government again

NHS waiting lists increasing, Police struggling and (violent) crime rising, housing crisis - you're right, we've never had it so good!
