Thankfully no one managed it, she kicked Scargill’s arse and emasculated the unions.

Speaking of which I see the cloud cuckoo TUC are calling for a 4 day week for the same remuneration, lazy work shy bar stewards.

You are right, we had to wait for her own party to finally realise what a selfish, thoughtless, money grabbing, rich pandering bitch she really was.

As for the TUC's latest stance, I'm sure the senior management of companies can appreciate the desire to come back to work on Monday afternoon and then play golf on Friday afternoon not to mention free wining and dining on company expenses as well as the 'tax breaks' for buying their cars, homes, etc. through the business.

There isn't business in the world that has survived without its workforce..

As for the comments about anti-Semitism, Labour have struggled to deal with the issue at party level but I agree that Israel should pull back from its expansionist approach and accept the rights of the Palestinians.

You seem to have a very skewed and resentful view of ‘the management’

Its kind of in keeping with your Citizen Smith view of the world. Have you ever worked in the private sector FC or just been employed in the public? Have you ever created a job and employed anybody?

I know many small business owners... they never stop. There’s no clocking off at 5 o’clock and forgetting about it or ringing in sick on a Monday.

Buying homes through the business?! I’ll have to speak to my accountant about that thanks for the tip.

Work all hours god sends to keep things running and your employees employed only to get taxed on profits at 19% and taxed on dividends if you take them.

Maybe you think ‘the bosses’ shouldn’t be rewarded for risking everything and creating jobs and driving the economy?

Power to the people!!!!!!!!

That just about sums it all up in my view and spot on ! Some People haven't got a scoopby doo have they about how hard working business people work mega hard and provide employ to people for them to earn a crust and get totally taxed ridiculously high throughout which helps the Policing /NHS costs etc etc. Corporation tax kiils you if you make a business profit and if you have enough for a dividend they whack you personally with tax again !! They just don't understand that when 5 0'clock comes there's still no clocking off for business owners doing accounts etc while they make off for the pub after work ! Some people need to wake up and smell the coffee !

Where did FC mention SMEs?

I'd be certain he was referring to senior management of large companies rather than the owner of a local SME (boozer/takeaway/taxi firm etc.)

And your implication that people employed in the public sector don't work - teachers, nurses, doctors, coppers, firefighters - all of them work-shy?

Get a grip.

I think we can all see which one's are sulking just because the true working man is asking for a fair work/life balance.

FYI, I have worked in the 'private' sector'. As a youngster I worked on building sites from 6 in the morning 'til late in the evening, often doing the whole weekend just to try and make a few quid because the developers didn't want to pay a young lad a decent wage. I had to do this because my father died when I was 9 years old so my widow mother needed help with finances as soon as I could work. I had actually started 'working on the side' as a 14 year old, the need was so great.

I was never fortunate enough to have the finance to set up my own business that would allow me to tell people to be grateful for a job before demanding they doff their cap to me.

As for public sector workers; I can only assume the difficulties of doing a minimum 12 hour shift in A&E where the least of my worries would be putting with an over-demanding right wing supporter screaming and shouting because they 'pay their taxes' and should be seen first. The death and despair that comes with critically ill patients must be a bonus.

Even the good old bin man has to walk several miles during the round, lifting and pulling the bins, trying to ensure the lovely people in big houses don't get a crisp packet left on the drive. Dream job.

One final thing, if your business is big enough, you can easily hide a house purchase through it but I'm guessing you're not successful enough to cover it?

What a bunch of Backstabbing decisions your LABOUR ELITE have now resorted to !!!

Let the Tories load up with a way forward and all they can do is not make any decision in how they would handle apart from staying in the customs union which means not leave and now throw in the voting down of any agreement, call for a peoples vote on the decision and now talk about a second referendum !!!

They are sat sat on the fence like a bunch of crows awaiting road kill and waiting to pick up the pieces - all because they want to gain power at all costs and stuff any democratic vote which backstabs 17.4 million people who voted democratically. !!

I've seen it all now and this Country is going big style down the pan with gutter politics and no consideration or chance for the country getting a good or decent deal ! Junker and Co must be laughing their f'g heads off as this has played right into their hands and they don't need to do anything but wait for Labour to sabotage any attempt to leave the EU !

If the gloves really come off in Parliament in retaliatory [REMOVED] for tat we are all going to be stuffed and Labour kicking this off will have repercussions for all if us. Anarchy could well be fast approaching soI suggest order your tin hats now !!

It;s a sad reality of what this great country has become and looks like we will still be a puppet of the EU woof woofing for a biscuit ! All those millions of soldiers who fought against being ruled must be turning in their graves to see what is happening now after keeping the Nazis out and keeping our own rules and identity just to fall in line to a Brussels Cartel Dictatorship ! We have sleepwalked into a massive trap and Labour's sabotage tactics will keep us in as EU slaves - hope you labour lot have your eyes wide open !!

This started out as a common market in the 70s and has morphed into being ruled over by Brussels idiots who have gilt edged pensions in place and make loads on expenses - who's been the idiots here !!

Yes well, this will take the country down also - when you disregard democracy what have you got - a dictatorship !

If we followed the brains of this country within politics and rid ourselves of the EU noose we could be all in a better financial position but nit without a few years downturn - This is where the rich need to be taxed heavily over this period to help the whole of the country and the less well off until we build up and then ease it back down on them - That;s my prescription - this way it gives us all a chance to prosper in the future with new trade deals and selling our expertise and new inventions especially in the "into space" world we are now world leaders on.

This won't happen as there's too many people wanting looking after with no drive and determination - like a bunch of mice being fed cheese ! Sadly when the EU finally collapses we will be among the casualties instead of flying our kite !

Caught bits of Skinners’s speech, the blokes a dinosaur who’s been coming out with the same old tripe for the last 40 years. It does make you wonder about the constituents of Bolsover who vote for this fool. Maybe when the last of the miners die off there will be some that think before they put their cross on the ballot paper.

What's your problem with miners Alf?

A few times in this thread you've made negative inferences towards them.

Yours,

Interested from Castleford.

Terrorist sympathiser McDonnell proposing 4 day week now, that should get the economy going. Labour, the party of the work shy.

That's the 2nd time you've mentioned the 4 day week so someone is clearly obsessed by it!

I'm sure you're familiar with the 4 day shift pattern where they work 4 x 12 hour shifts and then have time off? That sounds like a 4 day week to me

I’m not sure mentioning something twice is classed as an obsession...

You misunderstand his proposals, the horrible commie is bemoaning the amount of hours that are worked, he’s not proposing concentrating the same hours in a four day week he wants them working less hours by dropping a day.

“I think we are going to be exploring a whole range of issues around automation in particular.

“We will look at the working week because I think people are working too long.

“We will see how it goes.

“But I tell you, in my constituency, people work at Heathrow Airport. They work long hours.

"I went to a school play where when of the children in the play said to their parents, 'I never see you because you pass in the night on different shifts.'

"It breaks down family life."

Sounds like a right [REMOVED]

And you've failed to understand my point. Under the 4x12 hour shift pattern system, workers are only obliged to work 48 hrs without time off. The current system allows selfish employers to force staff to work any number of hours per week, often 7 days a week.

Can't see anything wrong with limiting the working week by legislation.
