World Cup Dross

Post by alftupper » 15 Jun 2010, 20:21

no amount of cringe worthy lager adverts and newspaper pull outs can disguise the fact that this World Cup is dire.

as ever the soccer mad media machine have been hyping it up for months but even the commentators on 5Live today were breaking ranks and confessing that so far so bad.

some of the contributors to this board were boasting that they were planning on watching every game, you have my sympathy.

Can't comment on the Germany game, but I've seen most of the others and not 1 was any good.

Am guessing a 0-0 draw between Portugal and Ivory Coast was a bore...........should have been a cracking game.

Robby Savage said if he had been at home watching rather than commentating he would have switch over

England vs Algeria HT and I think I've done well to watch 45 minutes of this rubbish. I sincerely hope England get beat so i can be spared all the bulls*** over the next 2 weeks but I fear it will drag on to the Quarter Finals.

turning over to the US Open to watch some proper sport which can actually back up the expectation with top class performances.

Overpaid so called star players look like they've never played football before. I really hope we don't go through.....
