Team for Wigan

Post by HuddsTigers » 25 Apr 2017, 13:05

We can't dwell on the past too long, and we can only look forward.

Drastic change in attitude needed, tweaks in the team needed. For me, we need to freshen things up and make people fight for their places and we need to start giving more minutes to people like Springer.

1. Hardaker
2. Minikin
3. Webster
4. Shenton
5. Eden
6. Roberts
7. Gale
8. Cook
9. Milner
10. Springer
11. Sene-Lefao
12. McMeeken
13. Millington

14. McShane
15. Moors
16. Lynch
17. Massey/Rangi

Holmes to be rested for this game I think. McShane to come off the bench to provide some much needed zip and change of play.

I'd be quite tempted to rest Lynch too if Maher or Larroyer fancy a shot.

Springer needs dropping full stop for me.done nothing since signing his new contract.does about 25mins tops when he plays and that's rubbish for a 24 year old prop.agree with the rest though

5. You can play on the sixth day. Saturday is the 6th day.

If you got concussion on Sunday, you can't play Thurs/Fri.

Possibly I'd go with...

1. Hardaker
2. Minikin
3. Webster
4. Shenton
5. Eden
6. Roberts
7. Gale
8. Cook
9. Mcshane
10. Springer
11. Sene-Lefao
12. McMeeken
13. Milner

14. Douglas
15. Moors
16. Millington
17. Chase/Larroyer

Just let young Douglas go and get stuck in with his abrasive approach

No OCL I don't think he's match fit and struggling with the pace he's usually at. Oggy has very high standards and a massive engine. He's not at that level just yet unfortunately

Tbf I agree.
We need to get Jesse running down that left channel like he was at the start of the season.

If Gales fit I would possibly save him for Hudds away wherr him and Roberts are gunna have to put in an 80 minute performance.

He's gonna need game time NT so I'd expect a slot on the bench unless Gale fails his test

True but a little niggle on that hand on Saturday and we have both Gale and Chase missing for Hudds. As well as Meeks and Hardaker.

FB - Hardaker
LW - Eden
LC - Webster
RC - Shenton
RW - Minikin

SO - Roberts
SH - Gale

PR- Lynch
HK - McShane
PR - Springer
SR - McMeeken
SR - Holmes
LF - Milner

SUB - Millington
SUB - Moors
SUB - Sene-Lefao
SUB - Chase

This would be my team, hold steady the first 20 (unlike last week), stack the bench and really take it to them before half time, just like the Wigan teams of old.

Both Lynch and Springer did not cut the mustard V Hull both don't look a patch on the players what we know that they can be, both being thrown about like rag dolls time for a rest I think, we have squad players out on loan, maybe its time to see how they perform ?? if they are not good enough why are they in the squad ??

I like it when we have all that strike on the bench but against a quality side the game might be gone before they even get on the field (like last week)
id start millington and maybe Jesse and bring cook onto the bench along with one of lynch or springer who are both not playing well at the moment
