Tigers still in for Koopu

Post by Fully » 22 Jun 2008, 14:20

Meanwhile, Castleford boss Richard Wright has admitted his club is in the hunt for departing Warriors legend Wairangi Koopu.

"We are still looking at him with a view to next year," Wright said.

Underneath that there's a bit about Logan Swann looking for UK offers. Isn't he an hooker?

Swann is a 2nd rower. Seems weird he's coming back to SL after leaving the Wire to "finish his career back home".

That'd suggest he's not up to it any more maybe....

I guess it depends partly on whether he's playing for NZ Warriors at the mo. He's played in 5 of their 13 or so games, but from what I've read he's not in their first choice 17 at present. That's not to say he's some over the hill Kiwi looking for a payday, having turned 28 a few months ago you could argue his next 2 years should be his best.

The very fact RW has been quoted down under as being interested in him, tends to suggest we're working to have him here for 09. I'd be surprised if we brought him for the remainder of the season, but you never know.

2nd rower, if your remember he played with Warrington for a little while, wasn't bad either but this was a couple of years ago now.

We will be able to offer more cash than any other club in SL, Due to us been miles under the SC
What other club would pay mcgoldrick 3 figures ? What other club would pay korkidas 88k, What other club would pay sherwin close to 150k

We have the money but to atract these players from silverware we are having to offer significantly over the top
Loyalty Costs Nothing !

Korki could be away after this season if not before, hes having big trouble adapting to the travelling ,theres been some arguments about it, he travels Donlan with most of the time ,theres 2 clubs been asking about him, one been a club who are in the League below us, the othere i couldnt find out as the person was guessing and messing about,so that would free some money up as well,
But remember no one knows wot the players are really on,,
Enyway it be nice to add some good quality to the side, but we need to really sort out the defence,

The team spirit though seemed good after the defeat ,then TM walks in and some heads are dropping, people in diffo positions is causing some hassle,,,,its a gap year and messing about year in positions on the feild, not at all liked ,
