How crucial was getting promotion?

It's always one excuse after another with Cas and I'm sure we'd still have got a franchise whatever league we were in this year.
Possibly, Phil Clarke asked Richard Loius tonight on Boots N All about if Widnes had of come up and Cas be in NL1 would Cas have not got one and the answer was not necesserily, Richard Loius said that the fact Widnes went into liquidation was the main factor he didn't say how big but he seemed to hint about 70-80% of the fact and said that Widnes still would of been liquidised even if they had of gotten into SL has they would of had money to pay off debts but still not enough! so thanks to Widnes going bust we have a franchise but im sure there's other positives.
