Maybe they don't want to stand down because they want to rectify the mistakes they've made in seasons gone by.

anyone know if this is true.

ive always had mixed thoughts when it comes to McG. sometimes can run away with a game then on others runs away from them. would free up quota and a big dint on the cap but wouldnt like to see him go this season to be honest.

but then again...it is the star

dont think theres owt in it, he will shine this year more tahn last as we are putting a decent team togherther, but you never know, ;)
one thing he will not get the same worship and banter with the fans down at the piecheaters , as he does at Cas,

Thought that this was a really old story which had been put to bed weeks ago?

I thought wigan were full on the quota. Read in league express yesterday they were relying on carmont becoming kolpak player so that they could sign the australian fullback early whom they have already signed for 2010. (Can't remember his name)

Not entirely sure but Isn't it the Daily Star that McGoldrick "writes" a column for?

If so what does that tell you? That there is substance to the story ?or is just Ryan continuing to spread the unfounded rumour?.

If there is an ounce of truth it it I'll be surprised. Wigan would be up **** creek with the amount of money they would have to pay out for him.

The rest of his contract, and then his wage on top.... no chance AT ALL!!!!

Second thought - how about if it's just worded like that - and actually, they are just looking at loaning him! :!:

If this is the case, stipulations SHOULD be:

> Wigan to pay his wages AND a fee of 50% of his wages.
> Can't play against us.
> Loan has a clause to bring him back should the **** hit the fan!

Easily sorted, why dont the club make a statement to dismiss/confirm the rumour if it is stated in the press?

I know his drinking pal has left the club, but surely that's not reason enough for him to contemplate leaving, is it?

The only way i would be happy is if it meant a Fielden-esque transfer fee was coming Cas's way and enabled the club to make a couple of significant signings... I really can't see Wigan shelling out such a significant sum for a player like McGoldrick.
