Do the club and council have it in writing that it's the ground first then the rest can be built? Is it watertight?
I don't want us to fall into the Newmarket category. Without the Cas fans this would struggle to get off the ground like Newmarket but they cooked the books and look what happened.
If this doesn't take place we'll have lost time when we could have been upgrading WR.

A Director told me that this was the case on Tuesday.
On the point about doing up WR, I would be surprised if we can afford to do much.

That's great news if it's tied up tight.
If we'd have known that the stadium want going to have happened we could have saved lots of money chasing that. That money could have need put into ground upgrades.
If that's sorted then I'm over the moon.

Hello all

As you know, the planning application has now been submitted for Five Towns Park – a Community Stadium, country park and retail development. As well as providing a new stadium for Castleford Tigers, it is expected that the £135 million development will create around 2,000 new jobs for the area.

All of the details relating to the application are available online at the Wakefield Council website.

It is really important that people who support the proposals make their voice heard to the local authority.

You can add your support for the development in the following ways:

Please visit: https://planning.wakefield.gov.uk/online-applications// and use the planning application reference number 14/01440/OUT. You can view the planning application and comment on it directly here.

Or if you prefer, you can add your support by emailing Wakefield Planning Department at devcontrol@wakefield.gov.uk. Please remember to quote the planning application reference number 14/01440/OUT.

Alternatively you can write a letter, quoting the reference number, to Planning Services, Wakefield Council, Wakefield One, PO Box 700, Wakefield, WF1 2EB.

When you do comment, please clearly state why you think the development is a good idea.

Your support really could make a difference.

Many thanks

Where his there to build a complex like this down Weldon road, the sweet factory, and Cas ground his nowhere near has big has the site the scheme, his planed for, and if they decide to go to the other side it would take a year to remove the burred chemicals from the site, plus the traffic would be worse than it his at Glasshoughton,or saw my father said, has he buried plenty of it, when he was told to by Hickson & Welsh.

The land up there his going to get built on whether we get a stadium or not, just like the other side will be were the old scheme was meant to be. If the project his done right, the people on Stainburn Avenue will see the prices of there property rise rather than fall

I just hope that as many people as possible send in e mails to support the stadium project in Glasshoughton,a lot of work has already been done and I can't wait for it to be started,I am sure minor problems can be soon sorted out, unfortunately the majority of objectors do not support rugby league, and some are supporters of rival clubs, that's not good enough re objecting, one even comments about Cas Tigers being in Financial Difficulties, how wrong are they, they will say anything to stop this project from happening.

That reason sounds pathetic, but it doesn't surprise me one bit.

Do you think so? I think they want everything spot on, so that when it's passed, there can be no complaints, just my opinion .

Who is going to fund the 10 million plus for us to update the old girl??????

This is a new stadium being given to us for FREE!!!! Take it and run!!
