Full back suggestions

Post by Casmoley » 18 Oct 2017, 21:17

Plenty of unhappy fans tonight...

Let's suggest some Fullbacks that are:

Realistic
Available
Same quality as ZH.
Same cost or less than ZH.

None in SL on the same par as Zak.....he is the best.
Not sure who is available in the UK.
in oz the ones on par as Zak won’t be available and never will be.
I think DP would have to look at there 2nd tier, a raw youngster, but could he hack the riggers of SL.

It’s a hard one.

I think we both know that player doesn't exist.unless we can come up with someone off the radar down under I think we are struggling. No point making a signing for signings sake. We have to be realistic and the benchmark now is Ben Roberts any player we bring in has to be better than benny.

Wow two sensible suggestions above!

ZH is world class and we got him as a steal! Won't get lucky like that again.

To meet all the above he doesnt exist. Simple as that.

No point in going on about it. Zak is the best and hes f*cked up and let us all down.

Exactly fords. He's completely fu**ed Powell and our great club over. Let's all remember we loved luke down and he couldn't tackle a Sunday dinner. If we can sign someone between Zak and Luke or a full pre season training Benny I'm happy.

Misunderstood, I thought you meant each was a category with them having seperate lines.

I get your point buddy. Reports Huddersfield in for Evalds so maybe we were a few weeks too late.

REALISTICALLY would you expect anyone of the SAME QUALITY as Zak to be AVAILABLE for the SAME COST ?????

If so why ?

Maybe Normyford has a point .....

I do think Kevin Locke would be a outstanding signing if he can get back to his best and at 28 is more than capable.playing in this cas team and his attributes could be the perfect combination but there is a lot of IFs in there

It's the exact point I'm making. We've been f***ed over. Near impossible to now improve or equal our number 1 spot next year.

Let's hope we massively improve our prop department to make us all feel better about the full back mess.

A big problem is the quota, if we only have one spot left and use it on let's say Locke we are going to have to target English props. Wouldn't be surprised if we did get Hock on that basis

Good player. But if he's not good enough for fullback in a Warrington team that don't have a set fullback is he good enough a full back for us over Eden/ Roberts?

I was harsh earlier moley lol it's not an easy one as Zak has thrown a MASSIVE spanner in the works! I still don't think Ellis is a starter! Alot depends on what the plans are with Zak , are we keeping/arnt we keeping. Looks to me like we will keep, Scott grix is underwhelming but could 'do a job' if we are keeping Zak. It's just a messed up scenario because full back is so important to our team! I would have preferred a short term grix type player with Roberts at half back. I would take jowwit , I would accept Locke too! Our halves were great last year and I wouldn't want to disrupt that! What's happened with Zak is a massive shame and has certainly stalled our progress for the next few years because we have to fix something that wasn't broken!
