Re: Gary Lo
I actually think that had Jonny Lomax not been picked for England we could have made a play for him on loan. Benny Barba is clearly No.1 at Saints. With M Smith and how highly they rate D Richardson it potentially could make Lomax second in line for all positions he plays. I feel he’ll go really well for England and show Mr Holbrook how good a player he is.
All coaching is, is taking a player where he can't take himself.

Yeah, I felt he was a little rusty tbh. First game nerves what not. I said I felt he could go well for England. The next few games should say whether or not that’s the case. Either way he’s not on our radar, just as an outsider I think he’d have been a good fit for us.

Again Bennett picking from the ether. Player who has played little in the last half decade of his England's starting fullback, you couldn't make it up.

Lol.... agree. We need a credible replacement.
Of exisiting FBs in England I would take:
Evalds
Hanbury
Escare
O'Brien
Mamo, Barba, Shaul, Gigot and even Walker would do but all are impossible.
Personally wouldn't want either from Wakey. Or Matty Russell.

One of the most frustrating things is that we held talks with Walker when he turned down Leeds’ first contract offer.RonnieGibbs'forearm wrote:Would be disappointed with Hampshire.Max n paddy wrote:derbystiger wrote:I thought it was Halloween today, not April Fools Day!jackknife wrote:Rocky Hampshire still hasn't got a club for next year id give him another go at full back

If we had know what was about to happen, we may have made a very different offer and he would have been our first-choice full-back.

Re: Gary Lo
I'd be fairly confident Mamo would be available for the right price, I would also be fairly confident he would want to come given the style of play we have down the lane.RonnieGibbs'forearm wrote:Would be disappointed with Hampshire.Max n paddy wrote:derbystiger wrote:I thought it was Halloween today, not April Fools Day!jackknife wrote:Rocky Hampshire still hasn't got a club for next year id give him another go at full back

Ryan Hampshire , I would have loved it if Ryan had cut the mustard at full back being from my home town and knowing his family, but the lad didn't look at all comfortable when we tried him there, Ryan looked OK when we put him on the wing but this is a position that we have a number of players that could step in and do the same job

Re: Gary Lo
Well as a like for like replacement Tony Gigot would go well as he's currently 2 months into a 2 year ban following an altercation with, wait for it, a drugs testing officialRonnieGibbs'forearm wrote:Would be disappointed with Hampshire.Max n paddy wrote:derbystiger wrote:I thought it was Halloween today, not April Fools Day!jackknife wrote:Rocky Hampshire still hasn't got a club for next year id give him another go at full back

Really rate him. Can't see it happening though. No overseas spot have we anyway?StevieTheTV wrote:I'd be fairly confident Mamo would be available for the right price, I would also be fairly confident he would want to come given the style of play we have down the lane.RonnieGibbs'forearm wrote:Would be disappointed with Hampshire.Max n paddy wrote:derbystiger wrote:I thought it was Halloween today, not April Fools Day!jackknife wrote:Rocky Hampshire still hasn't got a club for next year id give him another go at full back

Re: Gary Lo
RE Walker, when he asked for a transfer I thought that I had read that Warrington were in for him, hence the U-turn by Leeds, the lad as so much potential for his very young age, a GB player for the future in my eyes

Re: Gary Lo
I'd heard wire posted him 40k a year, which Leeds eventually matched after offering less than 20k originally.gateman wrote:RE Walker, when he asked for a transfer I thought that I had read that Warrington were in for him, hence the U-turn by Leeds, the lad as so much potential for his very young age, a GB player for the future in my eyes

Re: Gary Lo
Teenage full-back Jack Walker has performed a U-turn and committed his future to Leeds.mart0042 wrote:I'd heard wire posted him 40k a year, which Leeds eventually matched after offering less than 20k originally.gateman wrote:RE Walker, when he asked for a transfer I thought that I had read that Warrington were in for him, hence the U-turn by Leeds, the lad as so much potential for his very young age, a GB player for the future in my eyes
The 17-year-old last month rejected the offer of a full-time contract after failing to receive assurances from the club over his position in the team.
But the two parties have now come to an agreement, with Walker signing the three-year deal that was originally offered to him.
Doesn’t sound like he got a better offer for me. He was too much of a gamble for any of the top 6 sides how have established full backs and wanted too much money for anyone else

We all hear different stuff but the outcome is the same, he's at Leeds on contract. Wire has the young ex-cas panthers player coming through but they've let him go to kr.TT Tiger wrote:Teenage full-back Jack Walker has performed a U-turn and committed his future to Leeds.mart0042 wrote:I'd heard wire posted him 40k a year, which Leeds eventually matched after offering less than 20k originally.gateman wrote:RE Walker, when he asked for a transfer I thought that I had read that Warrington were in for him, hence the U-turn by Leeds, the lad as so much potential for his very young age, a GB player for the future in my eyes
