Powell has said anyone who is not dead set for round 1 will play.

I'd go...

Hitchcox
Clare
minikin (game fitness)
egodo
lo
Trueman
Ellis
Clark
o'neil
Cook
Holmes
Foster
Douglas

Springer
Maher
Aston
rayy
storey
turner
render
gill (if fit)
bustin
sweeting

wouldn't be surprised if Powell announces a squad in the next couple of days but like you see above I'd expect a strongish team then youngsters second half.

I'd expect Green to be in there too.

As we have Millo, Moors, JSL, Cook and Massey. I think our forwards are pretty much sorted with maybe one bench spot up for grabs.

At this moment team looks like:

Roberts, TBC, Webster, Shenton, Eden, Ellis/Trueman, Gale, Millo, McShane, Massey, Wardle, McMeeken, Milner.

Subs: Moors, JSL, Cook, TBC

So Minikin/Lo/Clare/Egodo to play for final wing spot.

I don't think we'll risk Ellis but give Trueman another shot to lead the team and get some experience, and then one spot on the bench reserved for another prop (Green/Springer/Clark) or a backrower (Holmes/Foster)

I wouldn't say cooky is dead set.

I think number 2 is to play for.
number 6 to play for

16 & 17 between green, cook, Holmes, foster.

I think if we had another super league team to play he wouldn't risk anyone but with it being our last game and some lads lacking match fitness or new to the squad it'll be a better team than expected.

The Fev friendly is no measure given it’s a run out and they aren’t a SL team.

He played well versus Leeds but he needs to do it consistently. Cook was our best prop last season and for me the shirt has to be taken off him off the back of it.

Whoever gets the shirt, it's nice to be able to debate a selection dilemma for a prop. Especially after Green was slated so much when we signed him. Lets hope, with the squad depth that we have, DP has a lot of these headaches throughout the season with players pushing for places in the 17 week in week out.

Me too and i think he will and start.

Massey to bench.

Which means 2 of these regulars from last year oggy, cook, foster will miss out.

Is he as good defensively as Foster and Oggy? All a question of a balanced team.

no disrespect intended to Thunder, but the division they play in is only slightly better than the league the top amateur sides play in, it shows when they are drawn together in the challenge cup one result last year Siddle v Toronto was a close game and i do believe one or two others got turned over, i would not play any of the lads that have had a game in any of the friendly's just in case of injuries

I weren't far off! Looks like Gadwin will be going into the season with no game time under his belt.

For me the full back spot will go to roberts however I think he’s under done having only played 40mins meeks for me didn’t show much in his 40 but suppose he’s just getting back in to the swing of it green is a must offers something different to most our other forwards think Truman has done really well but I’d give Ellis he first nod his kicking was top draw against leeds
