Saints uo next

Post by gateman » 21 May 2018, 17:00

The lads will be up for this seeing that they dumped us out of the cup, they have a big cup match next week and it would not surprise me at all if they rested a few lets hope one they rest is Ali Barber he was the reason they turned us over , I am going for a CAS win 28-16 get sweet Caroline dusted off it will be needed

I said the same about saints resting a few.
If they do am sure barba will be one of the,.
Our boys should be well and truly up for it.
We need to take Saturdays performance into this game, get the fans fired up, I’m sure we’ll be looking for some revenge.
Might even have Eden back, fingers crossed.

Given Hull's injuries problems I see no reason for them to rest anyone. Why would they? Lose all momentum and take their foot off the gas for what benefit? It's not like they have the 4 wrapped up already and can relax knowing they've finished top. Wigan are right firmly up their jacksy.

Agreed. That and they probably care more about the league.

Having said that, on current form I’d back Saints to turn Hull over in the cup no worries.

Doubt they’ll care about the league tbh ... if I recall correctly, the LLS was almost worthless to everyone else in the league, bar us! [/sarcasm]

I think we may at last have found some cohesions and the possibility of Eden return would be an excellent addition.
If Barba is playing I think Milner needs to single him out for special attention plus all the big lads need to run at him and trample him into the dust.
If our forwards play as they did on Saturday, in fact if the whole team play as the did at St James Park we should be in for a belter,
I would settle for a last minute drop goal victory if the old ticker can take it!

It’s quite difficult to single out a fullback in defence, mainly because he stands 10-15 meters behind the defensive line

They've not been to Wembley for ten years so it will be a focus for them but they aren't gonna rest anyone against us

if we get stuck into them like we did leeds in the first 10 minutes, they'll soon have their eyes on the cup. not too concerned about greg though as jy never lets us down.

This would be a big win if we do it and there is no reason why we won’t. Saturday was a big 80 mins effort, maybe first time this year, so maybe things are on the up.

Get the injured players back then push at the back end of the season. We have 2 games in hand with Wigan and Leeds to come to us. Our run in isn’t overly difficult, grounds are a lot firmer and we know what we are capable of.

Feeling more optimistic now than 4/5 weeks ago.

How many tries did a Trueman create last week playing in the halves? Think he gave the final pass for three, made Hitchcox’s try with a ball to Wardle and one try came on the back of a great kick that won a drop-out.
I’d leave him where he is.
