Barmy bookies
Barmy bookies
Apparently the bookies have made DP second favourite for the pie eaters job, some one has to be I suppose, I doubt very very much Daryl would want to go over the hill to pie land, and, the Wigan supporters want Edwards so that’s a none story to get excited over.
what doesn't kill me simply makes me...stranger.

Re: Barmy bookies
RichieS on the pie forums telling them all to put money on it being DP. When asked if he was that confident he said he was. I hope it is just bs.
Re: Barmy bookies
Was always going to happen. Powell is the best coach in the league. Shown by getting lowly Cas to the top of the league.
Re: Barmy bookies
Can't see DP commuting to Wigan from Badsworth daily....

Bloke that works in bet fred shop said theyd layed too big bets on powell at 10s yesterday , hate to see people lose there money

Re: Barmy bookies
Rumours by Wigan fans saying he was seen in Wigan last night close to the ground. Who knows aye..... With things surrounding the Cas club recently off the field I wouldn't be surprised. Orr and Sheridan would take over I would guess.....

Re: Barmy bookies
As soon as Shaun Edwards made the comment about wanting to come back and finish his career in RL, it's no coincidence the Wane removal van turned up. Lenaghan was up like stoat.
Pretty nailed to be Edwards for my money.
Also after hearing Powell dismiss any mention of Zak Hardaker to press after magic weekend it seemed very telling.
I would massively surprised if Powell goes.
How long left on his contract btw? Cos he cannot go til that is up unless the club accept. Would take huge coin for any deal to be made I reckon.

Why wunt wigan go for powell .if he does decide to go would only be for the wage increase. Dont think he will have the same passion for the club as he as for is home town club. but every body as a price .if happens would get thornton from huddsfield doing a great job and attractive rugby now would not make orr or sheridan up.

Re: Barmy bookies
People have apparently forgotten Wigan would have to approach Cas and not Powell to even get permission to speak to him...Cas will tell them where to go. If they do a typical Wigan and make an illegal approach, actually sue them this time and not just threaten to then let the RFL talk them out of it.
For me, he isn't going anywhere. Wigan will get someone like Betts or Harris for a year while they wait for Edwards.

Re: Barmy bookies
The guy who started this on the wigan forum said a week before hardaker signed he knew it was in the balance wether he would go to cas or not and that warrington had being in the hunt as it turned out zak had being talking to radlinski since before xmas and was a done deal for months

Edwards or a top Australian I'd say
Re: Barmy bookies
Yeah I remember seeing that. I believe he's a rep for some protein powder or something and likes to act in the know. Like you say Wigan was sign seal and delivered months ago by the sounds of it.tigerfeat wrote:The guy who started this on the wigan forum said a week before hardaker signed he knew it was in the balance wether he would go to cas or not and that warrington had being in the hunt as it turned out zak had being talking to radlinski since before xmas and was a done deal for months
Re: Barmy bookies
Seem to recall, when DP signed his new deal, Steve Gill mentioning a clause, inserted at Daryl’s insistence, preventing him going anywhere before that agreement has run its course.

Powell, 51, said: "Although I signed a five-year contract a few years ago there was a get-out clause at the end of next season which both the club and myself wanted to get rid of.

Re: Barmy bookies
Don't read too much in to it. Someone in Wigan will of put their weekly gyro on DP and the bookies have slashed his price. I see Wigan fans on Twitter are trying to get under Cas fans skins, so we must be doing something right!
