MOVING FORWARD

Post by classysupercas3 » 25 May 2018, 09:42

What now?. I think its obvious to see we are gona struggle for 4th. Time for us to try turner at fullback.i really hope our recruitment next year is much, much better than this.maybe try gill in there with Clark too. Lets hope gale is back in 7 weeks and claire. This season has been very disappointing, especially with the full back saga.the club needs to make a statement with intent for next year, and what there priorities are.

It shows, that like us last year, you need to be virtually injury free to be at the top. Saints were missing only walmsley, makes a huge difference. We scored 3 tries when barba was off.

The season isn't over, and I'm certainly not writing off the top four just yet.

Yes, last night was shocking. Saints' first try set the tone and we never really recovered. Saints found it far too easy to get over the advantage line and our attitude was poor in pretty much all areas.

I don't think we should be too down though. Last week against Leeds was our best performance of the season. We need to find that intensity again and dominate down the middle.

Also, Saints and Wigan aside this season, we've got the beating of every other side. On our day, with Gale and Eden back, there's no reason why we can't push the top two to the limit. No way would Saints or Wigan relish facing a fully fit Cas side in a one-off game.

We saw last year that it comes down to two games in October. Yes, we need to get in the top four first. But I still think this squad is capable of making the four.

DP's comments last night were all about getting a reaction. Hull KR away is a massive game for us now. Get the two points there and hopefully kick on against Warrington.

COYF!!

Yes. One more win and we should be safe in the super 8s, then give youth a chance and clear these injuries.

Wet could be full strength going into the super 8s. Then we can play our game.

When barba went off it was like a cloud had lifted from the players.
We started playing some good rugby.
3 tries on the bounce.
Now some will say saints relaxed, rubbish, you think saints would want to concede back to back tries, not a chance. We opened up for the first time in the game.
The barba factor hey, it gets between the ears.

If weve got the mentality we cant beat a team because of one player theres something seriously wrong with our attitude like the grand final thinking we couldnt win cos one player was missing

Didn’t DP say in his longer interview that out attitude was totally wrong.
It does seem strange that one play can get into other players heads.
Imo that happened yesterday.

Sometimes (like now) it feels like this forum suffers from collective Bipolar Disorder. The mood swings from world beaters to "we're all doomed!"

The reality is that Cas are sitting fifth in the Super League table, needing just a win or two to ensure that we will not be at risk of playing in the Million Pound game. The run in to the end of the regular season looks pretty good.

St Helens are the form team, playing with no injuries, just like Cas did last year, and we know how that ended!

If you really want to be depressed sit back, shut your eyes, and imagine that you are a KR or Widnes fan - facing the bottom four and the risk of losing their Super League place.

Last night was not great, but as we found out last season all the counts is how you end the season, get in the top four and win two games and you are Super League Champions!

Totally agree.

Yes we got spanked yesterday, but by the best side in the League who should probably win all the silverware if they manage to keep everyone fit.

I still think we’ll make the top 4. We got spoilt last year, but this is a very different year.

It’s hard to see players who have been key to some of our highs getting so much flak now too, especially when they are injured. They get injured from putting their bodies on the line, sometimes pushing to return too soon from a previous injury, and many times carrying a knock already.

We demolished Leeds less than a week ago, yet now after one defeat we are doomed?

Onwards and upwards! Get behind the lads!

which i think cas will do next year if jon wells and dp make the right calls in the comings and goings department

would not be having these debates on this subject if this years recruitment had being better are people 100% confident we will make better recruitment next year. past years and purse strings suggest not . true you cant be too depressed with key injury's we have had still favourites for fourth . but what really leaves bitten taste in mouth is were no were near as good as last year you think we would have used last year as a spring board to be even better not go the other way. this is showing in attendance drop what was last years average bet were no way near it this year

Why the Fu*k does the club have to make a statement every 2mins ?

I'm sure or I hope that DP and Mr Wells realise what we need for 2019, mainly shipping out these waste of money, quota and past it players.

We either give youth a chance as backup or replace with some better quality.

Why do certain people think we may not make the 4? Yeh we got hammered by Saints once again. But we have beat everyone from 4th down at least once.

We have 2 games in hand over 4th and are only 2 points behind Hull who have more injuries than us...

We have 2 games in hand over Warrington and are only 4 points behind them in 3rd.

We have a really good run in where we could look to pick up quite a few wins so we are still in the hunt at the super 8s where hopefully, we will have a full strength side and can become even better.

People giving up now when, if we win on Friday we go 4th. I find very amusing.

So let's not try then Yeh?

I would rather be in the last 4 than not. I would rather be 80mins from a GF again than on an early winter break.
