Re: super eight fixtures.
I'd assume it would be the same format as last year mate. Though who knows with the RFL.....

there is only a few matches to go before the super eights no doubt there will be some twists and turns and some unpredictble results as we all know to our cost

Re: super eight fixtures.
There are rumours that the million pound game will be played between the 6th and 7th placed teams in the middle 8's and SL will go to 14 next year.

I could see that or they could move the goalposts to get the right teams in.StevieTheTV wrote:There are rumours that the million pound game will be played between the 6th and 7th placed teams in the middle 8's and SL will go to 14 next year.
Featherstone wouldn't add anything to super league either in support or stadia (though it is better than some). Its capacity at 9850 is good but wouldn't be touched often.
London would only get in for expansion requirements.
Toulouse and Toronto the sane.
Halifax have potential but capacity is 5800, they say 7k is break even without a cup run.
Re: super eight fixtures.
That will be to guarantee Toulouse & Toronto get promoted. They are obsessed with development and sod the fact that there will be no "away" support for these clubs and the cost to supporters of travelling to watch them.StevieTheTV wrote:There are rumours that the million pound game will be played between the 6th and 7th placed teams in the middle 8's and SL will go to 14 next year.

I could see Toronto and Toulouse paying a retainer to join and enabling the away matches are on tv so we don't have to travel, like Catalans.stuey wrote:That will be to guarantee Toulouse & Toronto get promoted. With the poor support attending at Cas from Salford, hudds, Widnes etc it won't bee much different.

Sigh...
The constant whining from some corners about teams like Tolouse and Toronto (who both get crowds better than many SL clubs despite there being no "away" support) gets very tiresome.
Sod the fact that such teams are more likely to attract sponsors and TV money into the game, as well as raising its profile outside the M62...

If fev won there place in super league they would deserve there shot same as anybody else (and there ground better than some )would definatly include casmart0042 wrote:I could see that or they could move the goalposts to get the right teams in.StevieTheTV wrote:There are rumours that the million pound game will be played between the 6th and 7th placed teams in the middle 8's and SL will go to 14 next year.

No way will the comp go to 14. It would mean more sides to share the SKY money and the big sides are wanting a larger slice of the pie not less.StevieTheTV wrote:There are rumours that the million pound game will be played between the 6th and 7th placed teams in the middle 8's and SL will go to 14 next year.

I think you might be surprised, if SL is only 12 teams, Toronto and Tolouse will be coming in regardless of what anyone thinks. Then there may be the New York franchise also. This means 3 current SL clubs will lose their place and subsequently their funding.Sharlotiger wrote:No way will the comp go to 14. As the current SL clubs vote on the format and they vote to increase to 14, they almost guarantee their spots for now with a slight decrease in funding. It makes sense for all the bottom 4 teams to vote it through.
** not that I agree with it.

Re: super eight fixtures.
And does adding Toulouse and Toronto give you more firepower when selling a new TV deal?
Our product suffers enough with the lack of funding as it is so an improvement on the TV deal is critical for the sports development along with marketing opportunities which seriously need addressing.....

If a team competes and wins a fair race them they get a shot, no problem there.tigerfeat wrote:If fev won there place in super league they would deserve there shot same as anybody else (and there ground better than some )would definatly include casmart0042 wrote:I could see that or they could move the goalposts to get the right teams in.StevieTheTV wrote:There are rumours that the million pound game will be played between the 6th and 7th placed teams in the middle 8's and SL will go to 14 next year.

Their ground is a hotch potch of stands but at best it's on a par with Cas.
Ultimately see are looking at growing the sport, some teams would some teams wouldn't. I appreciate that we'd get more away support from fev than half of the sides in already.
