Ellis as always been a squad player, as much as he’s done ok for us, it’s the business end of the season, we need our better players in the team, Roberts and gale should be as fresh as a daisy. Let’s hope they don’t pick up anymore injuries, especially Roberts.tigerfeat wrote:Roberts will be on bench whats up with Ellis is he injured or is it thanks for your efforts time for you to pick up a mystery knock

only because Roberts was given the number 1 shirt and we had no one else.
Re: Benny roberts
Giving Roberts the number one shirt was one of the few mistakes DP as made, the lad looked lossed, will we see Benny back on the field the jury is out

Re: Benny roberts
Tbh, if he's not fit he should only be used in emergency. I would imagine no player is ever fully fit and niggle free apart from the start of a season.
Re: Benny roberts
Think Benny was great in the past when coming on as interchange hooker. Real threat around the ruck against tiring defences. However with Mcshane being an 80 minute player not sure this would be best use of the 4th bench spot for Benny. No doubting he is a great player when on form but you just know a handling error/stray pass could happen any time with him.

Re: Benny roberts
I think the World Cup caused a lot of problems for older players, Benny included. It really limited pre season prep and then to completely swap positions was just a bridge too fargateman wrote:Giving Roberts the number one shirt was one of the few mistakes DP as made, the lad looked lossed, will we see Benny back on the field the jury is out

Came on for Mcmeekan. Wardle went to the back row and Benny to centrejackknife wrote:How did he get on? Where did he play when came on
Re: Benny roberts
I thought Benny went really well when he came on. Ran the ball back well making yards after contact and tackled hard. In his interview Powell said he did more minutes than he expected him to and he didn’t show too much fatigue considering the time he’s been out. Very positive signs with him and Gale back. Fingers crossed we don’t pick up any more injuries and get JSL back as well and we could have the strongest side available for the semi
Re: Benny roberts
Roberts is Webster’s replacement for next season so would expect him to come on at centre every week.
Re: Benny roberts
He will be a real boost for us in that position if he stays injury free
The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have
