To be fair, Egodo has scored 4 or 5 tries in the past 2 games and had his hand in a fair few tries as well. Jon Wells has come out and said we are pretty much up to the cap at this point, with only Jy & Webbo from the first team set to leave (that I can think of anyway) who, realistically, is available for the money we have?

People saying we should sign a top quality winger/centre but they don't just grow on trees. Sticks may not be flash, but he scores tries. I'm more than happy with a winger who is solid in defence, good in the air and can bag a try or two! One winger who may be worth a punt, but I imagine may be hard to sign, is Ethan Ryan from Bradford. lad scores for fun, be good to see what he would be like in the Super League!

He's 21, our two current centres are over 10 years his age and experience and over 500 appearances between them more than him. He needs that experience and he'll come good.
I'm not saying he will never come good.im saying I don't think he his the answer yet for next year.if Powell rates him then why hasn't he been in the squad?.ive seen him everytime he has played in a cas shirt.if we don't sign anyone then and he isn't good enough yet ,we could be in trouble in that area next year.

Who do you suggest we get if we've not much wiggle room on the salary cap ?

You can do anything once it becomes a priority. I don't know who, that's why they pay a director of rugby.

You still need £100k+ space spare for the marquee signing.

Thought it was 150k?

I do however think the squad has a decent amount of dead money being wasted

I didn’t know exactly but however much it is, it probably won’t give us a lot to play with.

A squad needs squad players. They may not always be used but having decent depth is key, as Hull and Leeds’ lack of this has shown.

You start buying more expensive players then you are paying people more money to be sat on the sidelines. People like Douglas and Maher are getting invaluable first team rugby elsewhere which benefits us as it keeps them fit and they are getting great experience. They may not make it but should they start taking their game to the next level we have them on our books.

I’m not concerned about where we are at - I think next year’s recruitment is going to be pivotal as some of our more senior players get into their later years and some of our big earners coming off contract.

We joke about the Aston signing but over 2 yrs his wages will cost the club between 40 & 50k, for a return of absolutely nothing. A complete waste of time and money, not even a calculated gamble, poor at Leeds and released early from contract even though their 6 n 7 were retiring. I can honestly say it's one of the poorest recruitment decisions I've ever known, I'm I'm talking about Hlad, Haberacht, Whittaker etc.

Without knowing the rational behind the Aston signing and the long-term plan, it’s hard to comment on whether it’s been a good or bad signing. You don’t know if it wasn’t in the plan for him to spend this year out on loan.

As for his salary, I would guess Sheffield are contributing to his wage in some way.

There’s absolutely no way Shenton will be released. He will stay on a lower contract. I don’t get why people have turned on him. I don’t think he does too much wrong.

Shenton will be 33 next year, I think it might be his last
