Dissapointing. Can't get my head around people staying away.

If you want to watch a successful team, make it happen, turn up when we aren't at our best.

it's nothing to do with that our performances this year have been really up and down hence the drop in crowds all year

thats my take on it mate, notice the difference on the local roads during the school holidays, another factor that as not helped us is the over exposure on TV some people have sat in the pub or at home and watched CAS week in and week out on TV and have lost the habit

Got to agree with you not just the results, not as entertaining as before. We will always have a core off around 5500 who will go don't matter how we are playing and about 3000 who suppose you can call glory fans go when we are playing well. That 3000 stay away fans can being the difference to are recruitment its a vicious circle play bad and don't get the attendance hard to recruit to improve with out pushing the club into red.

If we get a win against KR be interesting to see what we pull in for the Saturday evening fixture against London the week after.

Particularly with the footy season back.

I have to say that we drove past the ground around 2.30.
The car park was full one hour before kick off which I can’t remember seeing before. We then walked up from town and there seemed to be more Cas fans than I have seen in ages. There was also a good turn out of Wire fans.
The crowd was given out as just under 7,000 but it looked quite a bit bigger to me . Of course I must be wrong but after going down there for nearly 60 years like a few on this forum you just get a feel for it.

It's £24 to watch Cas, like anything, are they offering value for money this year and the answer so far is probably not. A lot of money is £24, especially for those with kids and it being the start of the school holidays, sometimes people have to prioritise.

Everyone around us laughed when the crowd figure as given out. Pretty sure that clubs use a taxman account to save up a few thousand.

Don’t think it was far out. Princess street stand was nowhere near full, Plenty of space at Cas end, and most Wire fans at Railway end.

So do we not count the away fans?

Yes, but just pointing out that there were only a few Cas fans there, to explain the disappointing attendance.
