Can't see it myself. We have lots of wingers and he would command a big salary.
Would be a good signing good though.

Can't see anyone taking Monaghan after his performances this year and last.
Likewise, can't see a club using a quota spot on Hitchcox.

Re: Jermaine mcgilvary
The only way we would be in for McGilvary is if the Solomana rumours are trueand then I think knowing Cas we are more likely to go after Paddy Flynn, look at the donkey we got as Carners replacement.

Hitchcox and his knee if rumours are true. No idea if they are.
Monoghan should do decent think and retire. It should have been a 1yr deal as a stop gap. We screwed up there. He dont even fit into our style of play.
Re: Jermaine mcgilvary
Mcgillvary would be a good acquisition
Strong
Solid defending
Returns the ball well
Always thought he was wasted at Huddersfield and IF we manage to aquire his services it's a step in the right direction

Re: Jermaine mcgilvary
Agree mate. Said when we lost to Barrow in the cup that McGillvary would become a very good player. Would excel on our edge with the ball supplied by Gale, Chase and Roberts.ERG2012 wrote:Mcgillvary would be a good acquisition

Re: Jermaine mcgilvary
Assuming we have some money from Solomonas case, would we look at paying a transfer fee for JM?
To me it seems we're only short of a wing man. Minikin is playing outstandingly well, but I see him as a developing player.
£75k for Zak, £150k for Jermaine?
No?

Re: Jermaine mcgilvary
I dont think we need JM Minikin n Eden will do just fine for next few years n will only get better imo we need to start looking for a quality center to replace Webster next year as im not convinced Crooks is good enough

Re: Jermaine mcgilvary
I would also rather go out on a top quality centre.

Think we're ok for centres:Normy-Tiger wrote:I would also rather go out on a top quality centre.
Shenton
Webster
Minikin
Crooks
I'd love a top quality winger next year so we can move Minikin inside

Re: Jermaine mcgilvary
I see Minikin as the future at Centre, so would make sense to go for a top class winger and move him into the centre and then use Jake as squad cover for centre/back row if he has another year left in him, which I think/hope he does. Only my opinion. We also have the new lads out on loan that we don't know much about yet. All is good!jackknife wrote:I dont think we need JM Minikin n Eden will do just fine for next few years n will only get better imo we need to start looking for a quality center to replace Webster next year as im not convinced Crooks is good enough
Re: Jermaine mcgilvary
After watching last nights game and by no means disrespecting Minikin and Eden and with another small player i.e Gale defending out wide i think thats a weakness that the team will be caught out both Savelio and Lineham did just that to strong for the defenders agree with previous post build Minikin for a centre spot cover and bring in a new wingman

Shenton is solid. Nothing special
Webster - will retire soon
Minikin - has to proove himself at centre yet
Crooks - not too sure about him.
for me a like for like centre when Webster retires would be perfect.

Re: Jermaine mcgilvary
I understand why fans want a top winger but.... our wingers have 6 tries through 2 games if im correct. I could play on wing for Cas at 16 n half stone and score plenty.
