You can see Carney lean to his left, see the ref and raise his forearm into the referee. Sorry, but you cannot do that and hope to get away with it.43s flyer wrote:No he is not it is childs fault you can clearly see him advancing to justin and only stopped when HE hit carney.

Re: Justin carney
I'm firmly of the opinion Carney has been hard done to.
I don't think he moves at all, just stands his ground. If someone was walking towards me I'd put my hand out to stop them - it's a natural reaction.
One point I'd throw in is why Child advances towards Carney in that direction when there is no need to. Once Carney puts his hand on him to stop him, he walks the opposite direction and then sets the scrum away from the direction he was walking.

Looks innocuous from that video, no case to answer really.

Re: Justin carney
Just watched it again. Carney done very little wrong. If he hadn't raised his arm they would collide. Instinctive to raise an arm with someone walking into you. They should ask the ref why he walked so purposefully directly towards Justin. Would you?

Not enough footage on that clip but I already know the outcome - Carney ban.

Why would carney not just step aside or let the ref walk into him.

To me, Childs walks directly towards Carney. Yes, Carney lifts his arm but, as Hudds has said, its' a natural reaction. Should be no case to answer, but as its JC I guess he'll cop a ban for it, unfairly in my opinion.

Re: Justin carney
Just watched the Wigan / Sharks game and when they scored a try in the last minute, Joel Tomkins clearly barges into Robert Hicks. I do not see why this is deemed different, other than Childs has history with Carney and on the other hand it is Wigan!
Re: Justin carney
I don't think Carney has done anything wrong in this instance. Just tried to stop someone walking into him. If he gets banned for this it will be a disgrace in my opinion.

2 match ban and 300 pound fine.
Re: Justin carney
Free Justin, Had a close look at the incident and yes Mr. Childs advanced recklessly towards poor innocent Justin who at the last second afforded his forearm as a means of buffer (note the upper arm nor elbow was raised in anything else but as a means of defence ) from the charging Childs.
The question should be asked; "Who has brought this charge and why". Is there any hidden agenda or past grievances hoping to be settled? :-$
