Oliver Holmes.
Heard that Oliver Holmes has been advised to retire from the game due to a reoccurring injury. So sad if true with a guy with so much potential. Really hope its not the case
Re: Oliver Holmes.
Hope this is not true, the lad needs a testimonial if it is the case sad news indeed
Re: Oliver Holmes.
Doubt it very very much.
Why not take a year out, have any 'pioneering' surgery under insurance, see where he is in a year.
I'm totally speculating, but if his ailment is the following
http://www.boneandjoint.org.uk/content/ ... tendinosis
There are options. Open Surgery, injections, minimally invasive surgery. Although it has a 50% resultant cause of retirement in athletes, og has time and options on his side.
Especially considering it's not likely to affect him after his career is over.
I suspect the club have been treating it conservatively and now may be the time to take the plunge surgically.
Makes sense why Foster and Larroyer are on the payroll. Thank god we signed JSL.
I'm confident Ollie will be back, but perhaps a long lay off is prudent now. If not now, very soon.
*total speculation on injury type

Re: Oliver Holmes.
As nothing to suggest that degree of serious on his Twitter account nothing on the club website.
So hopefully just a rumour with no substance as l believe he has a long and successful career ahead of him
Hope to see you fully fit and back on the field.

Re: Oliver Holmes.
Problem for Holmes is he missed nearly all of last season as well as this with the same injury, looks like rest alone is not the amswer.casjunction wrote:As nothing to suggest that degree of serious on his Twitter account nothing on the club website.

Big fan of Olly and I hope he can get the injury sorted soon and get back out on the park.
Re: Oliver Holmes.
sad if true but could we look at trying Andre Savelio as a replacement for 2018?

Re: Oliver Holmes.
Agree with that one. I liked him and was pleased when we took him last year, but he had his chance to stop and we weren't good enough for him so leave him where he is. I think he's a player that thinks he's better than he is, and wants NRL anyway.flood light tiger wrote:Sorry i would not have savelio back he had a chance to stop at Cas but went to the dark side instead leave him there
Re: Oliver Holmes.
But I guess your happy that shenton came back from "the dark side"? He had a chance to join his hometown club and he took it, surely you can't blame him? He would improve the squad so I'd have him backflood light tiger wrote:Sorry i would not have savelio back he had a chance to stop at Cas but went to the dark side instead leave him there
Re: Oliver Holmes.
i assumed it was the transfer fee that was our problem?flood light tiger wrote:Sorry i would not have savelio back he had a chance to stop at Cas but went to the dark side instead leave him there

Savellii is hard working but not in our best 17. He chose to go back to his first club wire.

That's right. Wire is and that's why he chose to go back and be near his mates. He was on forms there but ended up at saints.
