I don't know how the 32 errors break down but he seems to have been almost faultless under the high ball.Mysterio wrote:Because errors are the only thing a players ability is judged onnottinghamtiger wrote:Minikin has made 16 errors all season.Mysterio wrote:Think we're carrying minikin tbh

He does have great balance and body swerve alongside plenty of other assets but if anyone is our weak link, it is him. IMHO...for NOW
Eden has made 32 errors, despite making fewer appearances.
The idea he is a weak link isn't backed up with the statistics.

Re: 2018 squad signings
Minikin at present is a liability and as to work on catching the ball, his confidence in this area was shattered during the challenge cup game at Hull and he still looks very vunerable. Against Wakey on another night his errors could have cost us 18 points early on. Every side will now target him when he is on the wing so Powell will have to decide whether to take him out of the firing line or stick with him and hope his form returns. With Monners and Jy waitng in the wings Minikins place must surely be under threat.lurcher wrote:I don't know how the 32 errors break down but he seems to have been almost faultless under the high ball.Mysterio wrote:Because errors are the only thing a players ability is judged onnottinghamtiger wrote:Minikin has made 16 errors all season.Mysterio wrote:Think we're carrying minikin tbh

Jake Webster made three errors and gave away a penalty against Wakey - He must have a very poor game?!!!!!!!!!!!!!Mysterio wrote:Because errors are the only thing a players ability is judged onnottinghamtiger wrote:Minikin has made 16 errors all season.Mysterio wrote:Think we're carrying minikin tbh

Never in a million years would it have cost us 18 points.massive exaggeration.hes had a difficult couple of months filling in at centre but had some good performances in that time also v Leeds away and salford away more recently.first game back on wing and after a shaky first 10 was more than sound.i have full faith in him for rest of seasonSharlotiger wrote:Minikin at present is a liability and as to work on catching the ball, his confidence in this area was shattered during the challenge cup game at Hull and he still looks very vunerable. I was being sarcastic Aid - of course errors aren't the only thing that are representative of a players' current ability.Aid wrote:Jake Webster made three errors and gave away a penalty against Wakey - He must have a very poor game?!!!!!!!!!!!!!Mysterio wrote:Because errors are the only thing a players ability is judged onnottinghamtiger wrote:Minikin has made 16 errors all season.Mysterio wrote:Think we're carrying minikin tbh

I'm not bagging minikin at ALL - he's got tremendous potential, but I stick by my original observation that he's currently our weakest link. That's not saying he's weak either; just that he's nowhere near the finished article and his decision making /defence and choices he takes in games could cost us

Re: 2018 squad signings
Think Minikins defence is the problem, seems a bit small and gets bounced off too easily.

Re: 2018 squad signings
I think Minikin is fatigued to be honest. It's been a massive step up for the lad & he's looked jaded for a few weeks, but credit to him he's dug in & kept going. We now have the opportunity to give him a break & see how he comes back.

Re: 2018 squad signings
Did you not see his defence against wakey? He stopped multiple tries down that edge which Eden would never have stopped. I agree that he aint the player he could be but his defence is definitely not the issue1973 wrote:Think Minikins defence is the problem, seems a bit small and gets bounced off too easily.

Re: 2018 squad signings
I thought he put a lot of work in taking the ball forward too. Not a bad all round effort after a shaky start under the high ball
Re: 2018 squad signings
I think we universally agree that genuine criticism of minikin isn't warranted.
I personally think he could play rep footy in 3 or so years.
For now, he's a work in progress.
If anyone remembers Paul Wellens' first few seasons you'd know a player probably has to make mistak s to fulfill their fullest potential

Re: 2018 squad signings
Minikin is a young lad and has really stepped up this year. He does have areas of his game to work on as does the majority of players his age. I'm sure the club ate working on these areas with the lad. Maybe give him a couple of games off to rest up and concentrate these and get him back in. Jy is a great replacement and has the chance to make the semi final team.
Re: 2018 squad signings
i am a fan of Minikin put him up for transfer there would be a number of clubs wanting to sign him, wasn't it St Helens that wanted him before he came to us??

Re: 2018 squad signings
Jy is the better player at moment. Play your better players. Simple. Minikin has to earn his spot back.old cas lass wrote:No.minikin tonight
