Re: Ashton Simms
He's Fijian so it's more a case of having a non-fed spot for him. Rumour has been around for a week or so but if it is going to happen, it'll be soon now we've done playing them for the season and they want to bring in Hiku.

Re: Ashton Simms
The report can't even spell his name right,
There is no way we'd bring a player in, to keep him fit for another club.
He's a poo house, and we don't need him.

Re: Ashton Simms
He deffo was proving a point against Lynch on Sunday. Heard this rumour a couple of weeks ago and seeing him Sunday I think it will happen. Moors and Cook out aswell, people keep saying we need a nasty prop, he's good with the offload aswell.

Re: Ashton Simms
Our commentary Sunday said simms was always willing to run the ball in but made few metres each time. I commented before how he put lynch on his backside very early on last Time we played then which resulted in lynch doing very few minutes. So tackling seems OK. Perhaps someone with more knowledge of stats than me will know what his metres gained are and how it compares to our guys?
Re: Ashton Simms
He can suck 3 players into him and offload the ball so maybe how many metres he makes is not top of his list. Causing gaps in the line maybe though ?

All of the above we're playing for a contract.TT Tiger wrote:Andre savelio?dettoriman wrote:The report can't even spell his name right,

Look, I'm not DP, But it's not a move I'd make. The next 4 league games if we win. Will put us in a position to rest/ rotate and blood young and fringe players into the squad.
Winning the league on points difference is enough if it keeps the 1st string fresh for the finals.

Re: Ashton Simms
For a half season boost you are not going to get anyone better and I think it could be the signing that gets us overy the line. He's tough, experienced, great off load, good tackler that has 2 years of SL as well as many NRL seasons in him. He will be desperate to win a Grand Final.
Great short term addition if true.

Re: Ashton Simms
Good communication skills too and a good guy off the field too I've heard from a few sources
Re: Ashton Simms
Although it was a bit of a strange one at first the more you think about it the more it makes sense.experienced player coming in mid season to give everyone a lift just as we are losing a few big guys for a while.

Thanks for that Hudds. Looks very comparable.
