Re: Joe Wardle
Hopefully it's next year they are back. The under 19s need a step up and it full squad needs to be match fit.

Re: Joe Wardle
Some papers saying chase is still on and that we lead it with Saints and Wire. I was told a few times that he had already signed for us. Not sure how this is panning out.
Re: Joe Wardle
well july 21st is the cut off date for this season?
Re: Joe Wardle
Brandon Douglas started up front for Halifax as they stuffed Fev at Fev today, he wont get that sort of experience, playing in a crucial game were the result really counts playing in a reserve match.TheSheriff wrote:Cas really need a reserve side, get everyone playing the Cas way instead of shipping them out to get lesser coaching and be out of the style. T. Holmes & Trueman would benefit more from that IMO.
It gives the likes of Hitchcox, Patrick, Maher etc game time in Cas colours too as well as anyone else who other wise would just be a squad player.

From what I've heard we Won't be signing Wardle due to the fact Newcastle want a fee for him.

Re: Joe Wardle
Pity if true but we shouldn't be that bothered. We have space on the quota and non fed players. We can choose who we want without limits. If we rate him high enough we can pay a fee.
Re: Joe Wardle
Hasn't he asked for an early release ? Strange asking for a fee when the player wants to go back homebane73 wrote:From what I've heard we Won't be signing Wardle due to the fact Newcastle want a fee for him.
Re: Joe Wardle
Maybe he could retire from nrl and come back over here.... oh hang on!fords wrote:Hasn't he asked for an early release ? Strange asking for a fee when the player wants to go back homebane73 wrote:From what I've heard we Won't be signing Wardle due to the fact Newcastle want a fee for him.

Re: Joe Wardle
Thats the one reason im not 100 percent lol. Wardle is a second row/centre. If he comes it would have to be JSL to prop and Wardle to second row and then move him to centre when Webbo hangs up the boots. Having Wardle , JSL , Oggy and Big Mike fighting for two spots is a fantastic problem to have though.ERG2012 wrote:Mate watched him play for Newcastle this morning and said he went well in the centre

Re: Joe Wardle
That said, I also think Wardle is good long term planning from the club
Minikin has found his home on the wing for me and so we need another centre that can replace Webster who won't be around much longer.
Remember squads are built 2/3 years ahead often.
