Re: I wonder
Yorkshire radio talk show as just finished.
On there it was said There's a few NRL clubs interested in mcmeeken, makes you wonder if he's turned down a contract extension. Bit to quiet for me.

Re: I wonder
No other team is even legally allowed to talk to him yet. He has another year at Cas.old cas lass wrote:Yorkshire radio talk show as just finished.

You can't do anything but accept it.
He's good enough AND can earn a million over there. I'd even encourage him if I were a friend.
However, I'd do maybe one more year after next first.

Yes he does have another year.
I would have thought he'd have been signed up by now.
Just repeating what Yorkshire radio said on there show tonight.
Re: I wonder
If I remember correctly his brother is employed as a recruitment manager for one of the NRL teams - I think he's based in New Zealand so inevitably he's down under bound unless we break the bank for him
Re: I wonder
Powell has said that getting MM signed is something he's working on. Maybe a new deal with an NRL release clause will be the way to get him to stay a bit longer.old cas lass wrote:TheSheriff wrote:No other team is even legally allowed to talk to him yet. This is probably why Meeks is in discussion with the RFL for central funding to keep him in the British game - when this is done we will probably announce he has signed.

Re: I wonder
When Schofield read those 2 out on the radio earlier my first thought was why do Warrington get 2 players with extra funding? Unless every team is getting 2 it's another half thought out dumb idea by the RFL that favour the usual few.lurcher wrote:then why haven't other central contract players gone down under. ben currie and daz clark for example.ERG2012 wrote:But isnt central funding 25k....

At the moment Currie is still in sick bay
As for Clark - the mind boggles!
Some folk have no sense of adventure. They go to the same place year in year out on holiday.
Some work in the same company years and years. Go out and to the same place at the same time every week
Then they look back on their life and think maybe I should have tried this or gone there.
Who knows mate could be various reasons
I'd have gone like a shot to test myself have a new experience plus earn a significant amount of money.
