To play not to coach.

Not a chance. Roberts and gale compliment each other. Maguire isn't the man for us at that age.

I actually think McGuire would finish off the Cas squad nicely tbh.

McGuire & Gale in the halves and Roberts on the bench. Just think of the impact if Cas signed Walmsley & Wardle and had a bench of Roberts, Moors, Sene-Lefao & Cook.

Totally different kinds of player. Roberts would make more sense off the bench in the same way Roby coming off the bench for Cunningham did. Plus Roberts on the bench would mean McShane doesn't need to play 80 every week.

Why would you waste important salary cap space on an ageing half-back who's only going to play less games and soon be retiring?

I trust in our youngsters and people like McShane who can cover. Use our cap on more pressing positions.

I cannot believe this has even been raised.

We also would never want a washed up Leeds has been.

I am laughing at this.
Maguire is finished as a player.
Why would we spend money on him as an unproven coach when we have just signed up our own quality backroom staff?

I assumed he'd be retiring from paying so that he could concentrate on refereeing games full time.

Leeds Rhino's have said there will be a job for him when he eventually hangs up his boots and (similar to Kylie Leului) his preference is in the commercial side of the game and not coaching.

Please tell me this thread is a joke??? Danny McGuire is a past his sell by date moaning idiot. He cries over every little decision and has dropped off significantly in 2 years. It won't happen but if it did I would be disgusted by the signing him getting rights over Holmes or Trueman.
