well said thank god on a dreary Monday we have common sense shining through
Didn't miss a home game this season.
Never said I wouldnt get one.
I said the quality of rumoured signings isn't making me run to get one.

We've said that about 5 years running but each time we've been proven wrong. Sure same was said about McMeeken, Gale etc.

We don't need to recruit en masse. We have a great squad already that just needs refining.

FULL Back
Minikin/Hitchcox/Lo
Webster
Shenton
Eden
Roberts
Gale
Millington
McShane
Massey
JSL
McMeeken
Milner

Cook
Moors
Holmes
Wardle

Maher, Douglas, Lo, Hitchcox, Gill, Egodo, Trueman and Foster as back-up with potentially Springer and Patrick still to throw into the mix.
That squad is good enough for us to challenge for the top 4 next year but not for the LLS.

We are 2 forwards and a world class full back short of being in the running for the LLS. That being said, we will be in with a shout of the GF, as this year has proved, you dont have to be the best to be the overall champions.

I agree.
Hock, Jamie Ellis and Corey Aston would be head scratching signings. Especially seeing what we are short of.

If our club morals are high, why let someone who as done exactly the same as Zak, into our club.
It’s a big NO from me.

A fully fit Hock would be a huge improvement on Springer and Lynch. Unfortunately ability isnt all that matters and you just know something would happen with him before the end of the season.

Exactly. Think the club are ridding those who do not tow a decent moral line.

Pack needs bolstering HT
Leeds proved that in the final and Hull did every time we played them.

Really ?

Once you get past that 17 only really Foster, springer & Hitchcox have played SL regular.

Lo i think should do ok on wing, i think i could do ok on our wing ......

Larne now gone so we need at least 2 props and a FB.

Should have plenty of space on the cap as thats about 7 out and i assume Zak shortly.

Who we can bring in at this stage god knows

We've 26 signed up (including Zak)

We started last season with 31 (26 made appearances)
Added 2 along the way but lost Rangi and Iggy.

We can soon add 5 u19s to bulk squad numbers up to 31.

Sign 3 more that's a squad of 34.

13 players with over 50 cas appearances.
8 with under 20.

16 players signed up over 2 years.

14 forwards
12 backs

Do you happen to have a list of the 26 signed up ?

Looking at that then i would say 2 props and a FB rather than bolster with 5 under 19's

i.e. 3 established signings should be enough. Squad of 29

I believe there are 9 u19s going into pre season 7 full time +2 that combine playing with college. The thing is these are amongst the best young players around and deserve there chance. Of those nine, four have them have been with the first team all this past season including the 2 that are still at college so although they haven't played "trueman" apart they are very comfortable and familiar with the players and coaching staff. To be a top side you have to be self sufficient to allow the club to sign marque players rather than spending 30/40k a season on players that arnt going to play much rugby.these young lads can do the same job for a fraction of the cost and have more potential to break into that starting 17

It's about time Powell turned a u19 into a regular thirst teamer. Seems like the last one was Clarky! Shame really.

No no just adding people who are currently in the squad. So no new signings until announced.. no outgoings until announced.

The prop list is misleading imo. Maher isn't going to cut it,and Jesse & Massey are better in the back row. We need a new prop.

Misleading maybe. But face facts. Powell has said on record he prefers Jesse at prop and Massey made more appearances at prop this year than he did 13. Also Maher gas 2 years on his contract. Just to point out also Douglas did well when he played but he's played twice so how does that probe he'll cut it?

Also you could argue all are misleading. Like scrum half adding millo and Macca makes it look like we have loads when we really only have Gale and Trueman.
