NRL interest in a certain Cas player...
Tweet from the League Express this evening saying a current Cas player has rejected a contract and is gaining interest from 4 NRL players. Wonder who this could be?...

Re: NRL interest in a certain Cas player...
Adam Milner.
He’ll need to clean up though. He’s conceded more penalties than almost anyone else in SL (impressive considering we have played two games less than most teams!). Most of them are for messing around at the ruck.
If he concedes lots of penalties over here, I dread to think how many he’ll give away in the NRL, given the pace is much faster and there is a referee specifically at the ruck.
Good luck to him though, can’t blame anyone for having a crack over there if they get the chance.

It also said contract talks have stalled.
Would we welcome him back if it doesn’t work out for him.
First refusal or do we move on.

He has mistakes in him, but also comes up with some big plays. That tackle on Makinson in the semi was worth it's weight in gold! I'd like to see him be a one club man!

that's got to be the way for me OCL, give the chance to test himself over there if he wants. great lifestyle as well but hopefully he'd come back here if it didn't work out assuming we haven't replaced him with some one better.old cas lass wrote:It also said contract talks have stalled.

Good luck to him hope he makes a good go of it plus I don’t think it weakens us that much with foster doing a great job at loose forward
Re: NRL interest in a certain Cas player...
Strange int it.we could be losing a player to nrl but we’re not too fussed on losing him as we have good cover in his position.normally it’s one of your integral players you lose when the nrl comes calling.good luck to lad if it comes off

If you get the option, you've got to try.

Re: NRL interest in a certain Cas player...
Not sure why we’d get any kind of “first refusal”?
He’s out of contract at the end of 2018. He can go wherever he wants to go.
First refusal is only relevant if the player is under contact and wants to leave. For example, Wigan allowed Tomkins to go to NZ Warriors before his contact was up. Part of the agreement was that they had the first refusal to sign him if he returned to SL before his contact with NZ Warriors ended.
It’s irrelevant for players who are out of contract.

Maybe we can straight swap for Joe Greenwood....
Re: NRL interest in a certain Cas player...
How do we swap a player whose out of contract and free to go wherever they choose?ERG2012 wrote:Maybe we can straight swap for Joe Greenwood....

We need to ask Wigan how they would go about it  :dance:Fumper27 wrote:How do we swap a player whose out of contract and free to go wherever they choose?ERG2012 wrote:Maybe we can straight swap for Joe Greenwood....
