Bring back Tom Holmes!!

Post by Tigerwood posse » 11 May 2018, 13:47

Having listened to Fev fans raving about Tom Holmes recently and watching him create 2 or 3 tries last night it is clear to me (and in view of our injury situation) that we should go back and get the lad re-signed with immediate effect, he is clearly Super League quality and he is very versatile with the ability to play at fullback too, how the hell we ended up with Cory Aston and let this brilliant young lad go is totally beyond my comprehension.........BRING BACK TOM HOLMES NOW, he might just be the answer and might save our season!!

Pity Warrington couldnt get Kevin Brown, sadly he was under contract and had to stay at Widnes and the sad story of Gaz Obrien who was wanted by Toronto, but he was under contract and had to stay at Salford as the invisible man!!

A contract can be terminated, either through a breach in the conditions, or through mutual consent.

I would also imagine, I'm only guessing though, that there will be a SL clause in his contract that says he can leave if a SL club want him

Exactly. The original poster is acting like we can just turn around and go "oh actually changed our mind can we have Tom back please"

Never said it can't but what the incentive for fev here. They aren't just going to release him.
I know two are injured at the moment but we have gale, Benny and Ellis all starters in the halves, then mcshane who can do a good job there. (Not forgetting trueman if we get someone in at FB)

What if Tom Holmes doesn't want to come back? Could have a release clause but he may reject the approach still and show some loyalty to Fev.

Also, I should imagine he's happy getting regular game time.
In the spirit of the final Blackadder episode - Goooodbyeee!

Be nice to get him at full back, hes great with ball in hand, takes the ball to the line, fit enough to chime into the line when we are attacking both sides and i think hes proved how quick he is, he kept with shaul on that chase last night and was actually making up ground on him, we could then put Trueman in the halves.

A Fev fan at work has told me Wakefield have made inquires for Holmes. Im guessing they see him as a replacement for Finn.
