Re: Junior sau
I'd rather sign nobody than chuck all our sparecap at a 30 odd year old back who needs spelling during games.
Re: Junior sau
I hear talks took place but Salford want £100k and would settle for 75 probably.
Personality I couldn’t justify anything more than a nominal 15k if that.
Heard it myself though, DP rates him

two or three years back i would have paid 75k for him not now but he is a good player who would do well for us

There must be somebody under 30 that can play centre with a bit of size about them surely.

Re: Junior sau
So we're looking at replacing a 32/33 year old that we know exactly what we get from and we know his medical history and personality that we've invested time and money in with a 32 year old that always looks knackerwd with a poor work rate until he gets close to the oponents line. Mmm would rather go with foster but until gill or storey or even egodo are ready to step up.

Re: Junior sau
Exactly my thoughts. If the guy wore anymore strapping I could mistake him for a mummy. Would be no difference from Webster in my opinion. Hope it's not true and if it is hope this 100k fee is well wide of the mark.SWISS TONY!! wrote:So we're looking at replacing a 32/33 year old that we know exactly what we get from and we know his medical history and personality that we've invested time and money in with a 32 year old that always looks knackerwd with a poor work rate until he gets close to the oponents line. Jake Webster is 35 on sunday, Junior Sau is 31 and not 32 until April 2019SWISS TONY!! wrote:So we're looking at replacing a 32/33 year old that we know exactly what we get from and we know his medical history and personality that we've invested time and money in with a 32 year old that always looks knackerwd with a poor work rate until he gets close to the oponents line. Re: Junior sau
id rather we sign an actual centre to play centre, if we dont sign a centre i personally would give minikin a try, hes played centre before coming to cas and is the same size as percival who is best centre in league. although foster does a good job whatever position he plays inSWISS TONY!! wrote:So we're looking at replacing a 32/33 year old that we know exactly what we get from and we know his medical history and personality that we've invested time and money in with a 32 year old that always looks knackerwd with a poor work rate until he gets close to the oponents line. It’s also worth pointing out that up until the last 3 games of the season i think it was he had been ever present all year for Salford.Tigerwood posse wrote:Jake Webster is 35 on sunday, Junior Sau is 31 and not 32 until April 2019SWISS TONY!! wrote:So we're looking at replacing a 32/33 year old that we know exactly what we get from and we know his medical history and personality that we've invested time and money in with a 32 year old that always looks knackerwd with a poor work rate until he gets close to the oponents line. That said i wouldn’t be paying a hundred grand for him.

Re: Junior sau
Is Jake nearly 35? I'll stand corrected. Just goes to show how good he has been for us and how much of a job it will be to replace him. I think Sau is a like for like TYPE of player if we decide to go down that road. I agree we need a centre but the best players can play in different positions. Australia had 3 top class full backs in their team last week and only one of them played at fb. Maybe we have the centre in PM and there may be another FB out there ?Tigerwood posse wrote:Jake Webster is 35 on sunday, Junior Sau is 31 and not 32 until April 2019SWISS TONY!! wrote:So we're looking at replacing a 32/33 year old that we know exactly what we get from and we know his medical history and personality that we've invested time and money in with a 32 year old that always looks knackerwd with a poor work rate until he gets close to the oponents line. Re: Junior sau
Personally I don't rate him much, think hes got a bad attitude in defence and is easily rounded, and if it was a choice of Sau v Minikin or Foster I would prefer what we have.
Just don't see this guy is adding quality to the squad, bet hey ho you know what they say about opinions .......

Looks like we've signed him. 1 year deal with an option for a 2nd.

Re: Junior sau
Google him, his try return is above average and other than Salford he's played at a high level. When Salford signed all the "superstars" he's been by far the best. He knows the comp too. He suits our style and would fit in with Moors, Jesse and Pat. We have the right culture for him to become a favourite
All coaching is, is taking a player where he can't take himself.

Good shout is that. He’s always looked good against us.Dazzyb wrote:Prefer Morgan at saints who's just been shown the door.
