Wardle & Mamo
Re: Wardle & Mamo
We need a good review of our backline starting from now onwards,
Good thing is, we have the forwards.
Minikin, Eden and Gale are the only ones rock solid guaranteed a spot in the squad in my opinion. Probably Shenton too.

Totally agree. I’d add Shenton to the rock solids. I’d give Jy another contract for a year and give him a bit more game time. He needs a bit of work under a high ball but apart from that he’s solid. Roberts hopefully will also come back from injury and get back on form - he was class last year when fit.Mysterio wrote:We need a good review of our backline starting from now onwards,

I like Minikin but I feel he's too small for a winger. He's definitely the right centre replacement for Webster though.Mysterio wrote:We need a good review of our backline starting from now onwards,

Too small for a winger but big enough to be a centre, you'll have to talk me thru that theory.

In a physical sense. He’s slight like Shenton and has good footwork and solid strength in the collision.Jonny1975 wrote:Too small for a winger but big enough to be a centre, you'll have to talk me thru that theory.
But I think aerially he’s poor and doesn’t really get us on the front foot returning the ball back. I’d like to see someone with size on the wing. Him and Hitchcox are too weak from kicks.

Yes, we are a team full of prime who can play centre. All the ones named plus mcmeeken, Holmes and foster who have had stints there aswell.HuddsTigers wrote:I think he misread your post to be saying that you thought we only needed a full back in the event of an emergency, rather than it's it's an emergency that we need a full backmart0042 wrote:We need a centre? We have a centre on the wing in minikin.
We have a centre playing fullback in shenny.
We have Wardle and Webster playing centre.
We need a fullback this season urgently.

Maybe the role of centre is changing from big and strong to smaller and fast.

Re: Wardle & Mamo
Rumours that Mamo is now wanted back in the NRL by Sydney Roosters.
Looks like signing a FB may not be as straightforward as we hoped.
