Brayden Wiliame

Post by HuddsTigers » 20 May 2018, 22:08

League Express says we are looking at him with a centre and full back our priority signings for 2019.

Nosey Parker has also, inevitably, linked us with Mamo and David Mead.

Mead is an excellent player. He’s been playing in the worst-coached team in the league and completely out of position in the centre. I’d be happy with him at full back.
Peter Mata’utia is very good. I know he signed for Leigh before their relegation, but I’m surprised he’s happy playing at Championship level.

Wiliame is an excellent option on the bench because he's played near enough every position for Catalan. Could also probably replace Milner at LF if he leaves.

Mead would be a must if Mamo is signed due to how injury prone Mamo is.

Mamo
Eden
Shenton
Mead
Minikin
Trueman
Gale
Watts
McShane
Millington
Foster
McMeeken
Massey

Holmes
Sene-Lefao
Moors
Wiliame

Something a bit like that, very dynamic looking team.

My preference for the back line is:
Mead
Minikin
Mata’utia
Shenton
Eden
Trueman
Gale

If Roberts retires and Milner leaves we’ll have a decent spare amount to get those 3 imo.

If Trueman can put on a stone and improve his defence I’d take him over roberts any day, I’ve seen some great things from him at half r de rly.

Can Truman play 6? Playing to the right is far different. Passing left handed an all that

Why would Roberts retire? He's contracted until the end of next year.

Only person who would probably consider retiring is Webbo.

Trueman played 7 but technically it's the 6 position. We changed them round a few years back so that Gale was on the left and Roberts on the right.

Trueman is left-footed so I should imagine he can play on the right too.

Leave Mamo alone as he's too injury prone unless his contract is small. Defo go get Mead at fullback. And we don't need a replacement for Webbo when he retires, got a bloke called Foster who did a pretty damn good job there Saturday night. As Phil Clarke said, out of all the MoM this weekend he was the top one.

Williame would be a quality addition.

I'd focus on nailing a FB first. But he's a quality centre showing up well in an awful side.

For me I'd sooner go mamo had one real bad injury with his lisfraks fracture or however u spell it both him and mead been in and out of team mead very much Ben Roberts type player nearly man and now 30 years old. Mamo for me good pair of hands and instinctive attacking full back needs to work on defence but he's only 24 and has lots of progression on him.

No way are we signing both Mead and Mamo. It's gonna be Mamo. Catalans will wanna keep Mead.

They will want to but having that many fullbacks can't be healthy. They need specialists in each position. I've not been impressed with either mead or mamo in the centres or tierney/gigot on the wings.

We should go and sign Gigot - he would fit into our style of play far more than any other of the fullbacks mentioned.

But they won't play full-back. At this moment they don't have to get rid of anyone:

1. Mead/Gigot
3. Gigot/Mead
6. Tomkins/Gigot

Tomkins and Gigot can both play 1 and 6 (Mead at push)
Mead and Gigot can both play centre.

The problem is that they all want to play fullback and it's their best position. The ones not picked aren't normally the best options in the other positions Mead , Gigot and Mamo aren't very good centres. Tompkins is good at 6 though.

Of course they don't have to get rid of anyone, it's their prerogative to have cover in all positions and we'd like the same.

I'm sure we'll approach the right man for the job and have a few options, in and out of contract, fed or non fed.
