I can't see how our quota spot is a problem? De register Jy?MØL wrote:Multiple outlets say we are in pole position to sign him on a three and a half year deal with our quota spot being the only stumbling block.derbystiger wrote:Looks like maybe Hood to Hull KR too. Re: Peter Matau’tia
Its quite interesting is this situation at Leigh, i cant imagine that Toulouse, Toronto and the other 2 who finish in the top 4 of the championship will be very happy about the bottom 4 super league teams strengthening from Leigh's demise, its as though Beaumont is saying, well we cant get into super league but i can help to stop any of the others getting in by letting the struggling super league teams sign our best players..... :-k :-k
Re: Peter Matau’tia
Seen somewhere were Leigh are loaning players from Leigh miners to be able to put a team out Sunday...strange things happen in sport London might get a man sent off in first 5minutes against barrow and get beat

Think hes looking at having a minimum payment on wages for the next 3 months. If I was a leigh fan id be fuming. ultimately they have paid for a really poor start to the year.Tigerwood posse wrote:Its quite interesting is this situation at Leigh, i cant imagine that Toulouse, Toronto and the other 2 who finish in the top 4 of the championship will be very happy about the bottom 4 super league teams strengthening from Leigh's demise, its as though Beaumont is saying, well we cant get into super league but i can help to stop any of the others getting in by letting the struggling super league teams sign our best players..... :-k :-k

Re: Peter Matau’tia
If Leigh finish outside top four (which although likely still isn’t guaranteed), they will only get 250k funding next year. That’s down from 1.5m this year.betts21 wrote:Think hes looking at having a minimum payment on wages for the next 3 months. There is no way Beaumont wants to be investing that heavily to maintain that squad. Add to that the lack of increased revenue and profile from middle 8s, let alone prospect of potentially being in SL next year, it’s a big funding gap.
I think he is just trying to minimise his losses. Offload players now and hopefully get a bit of money. Reduce wages bill in immediate future and also make the club appear less costly to get involved in for potential investors.

I wonder if Koucash will take over and keep DB on the BoD?

Webster is not a quota player, if any truth in this surely it will be Jy who will be de-registered.Fumper27 wrote:Maybe this is how we make space on the quota for Matau’taiTigersbarmy wrote:Anyone heard about Webster to Catalan ?

Re: Peter Matau’tia
If Mata'utia is indeed signing for us then, then from what i've been reading on twitter, facebook, social media etc, Leigh fans are absolutely gutted to see him leave. A large number of them have had some quite unpleasant things to say about the others who have left, not seen one bad comment towards Peter. Seems he's gutted himself to be leaving, seems quite a loyal player who would fit in well with what were building.

Re: Peter Matau’tia
There is no doubt this guy will slot into a weak area of our team on a long-term basis and this would be outstanding by the club. I certainly hope this one is true. At the same time I do feel for the Leigh fans.
Re: Peter Matau’tia
Matautia needs good ball, and the ball in his hands. Full back or centre.
I’ve almost forgotten now how he plays, but remember the very first time I saw him that we just had to have him.
Another piece in the jigsaw if we do have him, not too many more pieces to find, although some very important ones still.
