This was news about 3 weeks ago but then trent merrin looked possible and it went quiet.

I saw him in a photo with his partner in Leeds, so thought it was on again. He was then dropped for 3rd test.

A good player on his day, doesn't play big minutes.

Leeds will have brought in 3 big players all with question marks over them and lost hall, Keinhorst and their best forward in garbutt. Also some more to go to fit the cap. Sounds like they are going for a strong 17 like Hull and gambling in them staying fit. They have a great junior set up though.

Wasn't that long ago that he was voted one of the best forwards in Australia, along with Fifita and Klemmer.

I would put them as one of the favourites for next year if they get him. He’s unbelievable but it’s also unbelievable he would think that coming to the uk for a paycut a good move.

looks like taupau wants out of his last year of his contract at manly and there wanting to clear up some cap space so a year at leeds then going back to the nrl not as unlikely as i thought be a rate coup for leeds if its only for a season

I stand corrected. Thought I saw a report last week where he had decided to stay in Oz with a new 2 year deal at Penrith.

Leeds are bringing in blokes who still at the top of there game in the nrl
Fair play to them you should try and keep the supporters buzzing in the off season with signings most clubs have done that this off season to some degree or other even if it's only one good signing it lifts the supporters

Leeds are making positive signings but remember they make the most money and have the highest crowds. Its also the first time they've had a marquee player, nevermind two.

Essentially is what I would like at Cas, high quality overseas signings who are guaranteed starters.

Not saying he's not a great player but to be so highly rated and yet his team want him gone and no other team in the nrl wants him.

The back loading of contracts is killing them. I'm glad we don't do it. Taupau would be an excellent signing a la merrin, I bet hetherington is going mental. He wasn't for the marquee players at the start now he's got two!

Warrington have got Blake Austin, apparently he's on £400k a year. Tyrone Roberts was reportedly on £350K.
