Talanoa
My man inside reckons he's signed a 2 year deal with us..
Re: Talanoa
If he can stay injury free, think him and Minikin will do a good job and that right edge.
How is he defending? Never really took any notice if I'm honest.

Just hope this isn't true, would be another Monaghan signing, been good but now over the hill.Bolton-tiger wrote:heritage1926 wrote:Made 75 tackles last year, missed 23.Nobody wrote:If he can stay injury free, think him and Minikin will do a good job and that right edge.

People...we must sign sau’u, he’s 32 we’ll get good 2 year out of him
Same people...we don’t want Talanoa he’s 31, can’t we have a player who’s only 27 but on 160 grand a year...
Me...??? #-o

Talanoa would be a solid signing in my opinion

Re: Talanoa
I'd love to see Seb here, but not on Marque money. If the rumoured numbers of £160-£180,000 a year are close then it is too much. For that money you want a match winner that plays 80 mins. Talanoa has a good few years left in him yet and would do a decent job on our right edge for a lot less money I reckon. Let's wait and see what, if anything, happens.Bolton-tiger wrote:heritage1926 wrote:Made 75 tackles last year, missed 23.Nobody wrote:If he can stay injury free, think him and Minikin will do a good job and that right edge.

Likes to shoot in from the wing to put a shot on the centre. Looks good if it comes off, concedes a try if not.Nobody wrote:How is he defending? Never really took any notice if I'm honest.

Re: Talanoa
To be perfectly honest, I’d be happy if he does come to us, he’s ruined us on many occasions in the past, Hull need a decent prop, they are net blessed in that department, but I have to say, I’m quite shocked they would spend this sort of money on a 15 minute/20 minute a half player for 150k a year, wasn’t Hulls problem last year, that they had no depth and that 85% of their cap spend was on 15 players?? Unless they are planning to make IKihahifo a marquee player, Hull will be in the same boat as last season with a good first 15, but then a massive gulf with the rest of their squad ... when injuries bite, they are going to be in trouble again!

Why do we want a player over is best. Looks like we have come out worst. You now the old saying if you pay peanuts you get monkeys.

Re: Talanoa
Your on your own line struggling to get moving forward and get a foot hold in the game who's gonna get you better yards Clare or talanoa I know who my money's on think he could be a cracking addition yes we'd all loved a young player to come over we missed out on williame who would have been better but we looked at sau I'd say talanoa is better than say signing wise imo just let's hope Gregg nails this centre spot down

Re: Talanoa
We finished last season being niled twice. So or answer is to sign a 30+ player that hull thinks is over the top and some how we will get back the position we was two years ago. We need to compete when you look at Leeds,Wigan,st helens and even Wakefield have made so strong signings.
Re: Talanoa
Correct but it would look like we have made some poor contract/deals on some players and have our hands tied nobody wanting to take the likes of Roberts Ellis and were struggling to off load wardle. Bringing talanoa in is a good stop gap who gives us strong options he has always had a strong carry on him something that in our two games at the end of the year we probably could have done with I think hull are the opposite of us our pack is huge with some real quality there back line is huge with some quality the deal to lose wardle for talanoa imo is a decent bit of business don't get me wrong my main doubt is will Greg become a solid center that's the big risk for me if not I'd have probably preferred gelling or inu as a centre option but guess time will tell it's a positive signing at this point in my eyes were weak out wide and he definitely strengthens us.

Re: Talanoa
Greg can beef up as much as he wants but we cannot make him taller. And under the high ball he will be a weak link. Teams are finding castleford very easy to read. We need extra troops to make teams second guess how we play, and we need them hungry, not running the career down.

If teams are easily reading us that's because we have one plan, go to gale who goes left lol
A change in plan rather than personnel simply sorts that lol

Re: Talanoa
You need players Who can make the changes on the field. Remember we was niled twice end of last season and we had most of our so called best team playing . If we don’t make changes I think we will slide further down the league. And we will become a team making up the numbers.
Re: Talanoa
We were missing Minikin, Webster (sub), Moors, Cook, Trueman and Foster from the starting 13 as well as an half fit Luke Gale. Take the same type of players from the Wigan side, who were pretty much full strength, then you see a different ball game. That’s nowhere close to “most of our so called best team” and I’d you were a “True-supporter” you would know this.True-supporter wrote:You need players Who can make the changes on the field.
