Re: Tyla Hepi
Only watched very little of him but think he can play prop second row and loose
Re: Tyla Hepi
Depends on the wider context, like any of the rumours.
If they are coming on as part of a squad player freshen up ie
Griffin for Clark
Hepi for Clarkson - (although surely Hepi isn't worth a quota spot)
Olpherts for Claire or Egodu and Gill
With only the likes of Minikin, Aston, Maher and Rankin or Ellis as additional departees
And
a quality winger and forward (or Full Back, bearing in mind one of the rumours) coming in.
Fine. Happy enough.
If however we are shuffling the deck slightly with no quality to come in (even worse Gale also leaving) then signing more average at best SL players (like Griffin and Olpherts) and projects (Hepi) starts to look ridiculous.

Re: Tyla Hepi
Even though he's a Kiwi, is he off quota? Did he play junior over here whilst his dad was still playing?
Re: Tyla Hepi
We planning for the championship when they bring back no relegation or promotion in 2021?
Re: Tyla Hepi
Looking at the playing records of Tyla and Brad Hepi, I think you might be right. Tyla is 25 years old and was playing for HKR in 2011 and around the same time Brad was coach of Gloucester All Golds. Looks like Tyla’s junior rugby must have been in the UK.
Reverse of the Mitch Clark situation I think. That said what’s the odds on a rule change shortly?

Don’t believe what you hear. Half of the rumours Cas fans come up with are tosh that gets fed to people who believe owt.

Re: Tyla Hepi
Found an article where he says.... grew up in NZ came over here at 11 or 12 years old. Not to sure on the rules surrounding junior training for quota spots as it seems he may have trained in NZ and UK as a junior.TheSheriff wrote:Even though he's a Kiwi, is he off quota? Hes got a mean right shoulder when he tackles.ddfo improvement on maher
Re: Tyla Hepi
Mahers played more super league games than he as and hes younger so not sure hes an improvement.
Re: Tyla Hepi
Chris Clarkson has more GF winners medals than the rest of our squad. Does that make him the better than others???Dez wrote:Mahers played more super league games than he as and hes younger so not sure hes an improvement.

Re: Tyla Hepi
Anyone know if he will count on the quota ?
Re: Tyla Hepi
But you need to compare “apples with apples”. You can’t compare someone whose been at a SL club for about 5 years. Compare him to someone at the club whose played a similar amount of SL games then judge if he’s an improvement or not.Dez wrote:The clue fumper is hes played a total of 5 super league appearances in a poor 2013 hkr team .
