No surprise. He will be 31 then and no doubt been paid 300k plus. Along with Blake surely they will have to get rid to keep under the cap even though only the first 150k counts. That's 300k with them 2 right there.

Blake Austin is on 300-350k. Tyrone Roberts shockingly was on the same too.

Widdop would just take the place of Brown who is already on a sizeable contract so with only £150,000 counting on the actual cap they will have no problems.

Warrington starting to flex their financial muscles. Could have an hell of a team in a few years time. However, probably won't be a Warrington lad in it.

I might be wrong but I've never been blown away by widdop as a player solid enough with out been amazing. No doubt him and Austin will go well but it's alot of money on two players also won't he take up a non fed trained place on quota must be losing at least one over sea player at end of year? the

100% correct Betts, if Mitch Clark born in Pontefract West Yorkshire is non fed then so is Widdop born in Halifax West Yorkshire. Neither of them played academy rugby in UK or France therefore they cannot be classified as Fed trained.

He's half decent like but I still believe this deal falls into to 'more money than sense' category. Rarely these days can you buy success in RL.

I'm sure he'll get a warm welcome when he visits Cas. :D
