It seems like a bit of bluster to get a new ground or they'll go.

Tbh, it is interesting the change in view of 88m, from being a saviour to now wanting to leave. Strange.

I would imagine that they are wanting the wildcats fans to push the development to enable the stadium update. They need to put a clause in to ensure the ground is done and passed over, like we have at GH.

Sounds like all its not rosy over there.

I haven't heard anything about 88M wanting to leave.
The guy who owns the company is Manni Hussain and is into hotels and student accommodation here :-

Something I cannot understand though is how there doesn't seem to be any pressure on him from WTW to get the ball rolling on the redevelopment of Belle Vue. Plans have been drawn up but why haven't they been disclosed ?

The leave was about wildcats leaving. I think this is the pressure by them to 88m to start or they'll leave.

Manni is a businessman, he can make more money per square metre from accommodation than what can be made by renting out the ground. That must be a worry for them

I see on their forum they are having another strop and are now talking about taking legal action. Good luck with that!

There seems to be a lot of hatred coming our way on their forum. One poster even describes us as an inconvenience and another having a paddy over all things WMDC and Peter Box.
I remember it wasn't that long ago they were warned about the small print in the 106 agreement by one of our supporters but the people who didn't heed the warning are now forgiven. Or it it conveniently forgotten ?

Anyway - it sounds like they are planning having a whip round for an "outing" and might be getting the begging buckets dusted off again. God - what would Sir Rodney think ?

Just had a look through their forum on rlfans on the subject. The blame game is in full swing. Even if the whip round got going to get developer/Council to court what price a victory for them if they did?. They will still be short of the trigger point to start a build anyway and Yorkcourt will probably make sure it won't happen ,and the council are already making large cutbacks already (2 swimming pools shut, another to come around the district for example)so where will the money come from to upgrade B.V?

Large council tax hikes to tart up a ground that a small fraction of the City's population can be bothered to enter every 2 weeks between Feb to Sept? Sounds like a vote winner.

in a way I know how their fans feel. when you are hurting like they are it is natural to look (however unrealistically) for some one to blame. they have become blind to reality and blame box for getting them into this mess. the truth is decades of financial mismanagement have got them into this position (Michael carter being the exception) and all box is guilty of is refusing to dig them out of the mess they have got themselves into at the rate payers expense.

It looks like any small hope of the new owners upgrading the stadium have gone and a move to Dewsbury inevitable. They might get away with spending a season there but how long will the RFL allow a nomadic club in the top tier ?

They did with London ;) . But they were always given a little more slack. Wonder if Barnsley would still be an option?

So if it goes to court what are they likely to want from the council?. Also what were these "community" facilities that were earmarked for Newmarket?.

The WakeyRLfans forum idiots have been in full on "Box/Council Hate" mode for a couple of days now and are really losing their marbles!

Quote "Box has gifted Cas a brand new stadium, not even a community trust but here you go Cas have a stadium"

Yes the "Box delivered the new stadium for Cas" quote is a classic. As is the "lack of help, support and consideration to our plight" quote on a later post.

So to my knowledge the council have dug them out of previous holes in the past, & ignored the planning permission from the club when they put up the Benidorm flats!. What they fail to understand is Richardson is the real villain in this by selling the ground in shady circumstances years ago.

Also how Sir Rodney escapes flak is amazing...is this guy made of teflon?

I've read the thread and it's everybody to blame apart from their mismanagement over the years and the lack of people wanting to watch them.

Is always someonelses fault.

The fans are looking for someone to sue, maybe start with Rodney and work from there. Trying to sue the council is never good, so they get found guilty and then they empty your bins twice yearly to buy them a new stadium.

This may be a simplistic view but from what I can gather their main beef with the council is two fold in that 1) they appear to not be doing anything to push the project along and this is because Box is a Cas fan yada yada yada and 2) the council were complicit in allowing planning permission for the Newcold build to be given outside the 106 agreement and therefore not counting towards the trigger point for the stadium build.

They appear to be rallying the troops for a potential legal battle but I'm not sure what this will achieve? It may well come out the Newcold PP should have counted but even if it does their still a long way short of the trigger point and I'm struggling to see what legally has been done wrong. Other than a moral victory against how the whole saga has been handled by the council/Yorkcourt what will change?

Perhaps someone more up on these matters can explain please?
