"Expert" Pundits
Just a bit random but who do we all think are the best RL experts at moment - who we give any credence to
Brian Noble (Premier) - full of himself with his quirky comments and now a lover of his super Toronto
Gary Schofield (League Express) - controversial and way behind the times
Jamie Peacock (Super League Show) - just wheel out one of the old boys
John Kear (BBC) - ye, can listen to him & his in sight knowledge
Jonathan Davies (BBC) - Union man with a few random ooooo and arrr
Terry O'Connor (Sky) - just rattles on about "the big forwards; the big forwards driving it up the middle

John Kear for me. His enthusiasm for the game makes him very listenable.

Can't believe Jon Wells isn't listed. Love watching his analysis

I know he was more radio based and now coaching but Andrew Henderson was always good to listen to.
Long live the Tigers!!!

Can't stand Terry O Connor. How he has got a gig for sky baffles me. As has been said he just goes on about the forwards and that the team need to get up the park and get a try.
Phil Clarke can be ok sometimes but tries now to be controversial.
Brian Carney I don't mind. Barrie Mcdermott isn't bad. John Wells I do like though.

Agree about Terry O never seems to say anything of interest and does my head in when he says Sintillins!! AaaarrrggghhBCT wrote:Can't stand Terry O Connor. How he has got a gig for sky baffles me. Phil Clarke also seems to have become more animated with anything he says these days but i actually don't mind him that much.
Barry Mac has grown on me in recent times especially when not in the commentary box with O'Connor. When on his own he seems to come across a bit more insightful but when they are together they really do bring out the flat cap image of the sport people outside the game still think it is.
But the worst of the lot although technically not a pundit is Stuart 'defend the ref at all costs even when clearly wrong' Cummings!! I just don't get why he is in the commentary box? He will always find a reason to justify a poor decision and brings nothing to the commentary party. In fact there's too many in there as it is. Why do we need 5/6 people commenting on a game?
For me Wells and Carney should be fronting the Sky coverage which Carney does seem to be doing this season. Get rid of Terry O and Cummings, have Barry Mac doing a small bit like John Wilkin or Robbie Paul do on BBC when they are amongst the players when warming up and have more players from teams playing in the televised game that are not playing in the studio for pre/post match and half time discussion which they did with Sam Tompkins last night but would've been good to also have a Warrington perspective, such as Hill or Ratchford.
Re: "Expert" Pundits
I think sky should save some money and get rid of O'conner, Cummings, Angela Powers and the painfully wooden Bill Arthur. The rest of them are doing a great job with Carney leading the line superbly I think. Since Stevo has left the whole show is so much better. No more mute button for me on a Friday night!
