Has "parted company" with saints. A shame, wanted him in charge when we went over there

Been coming a while.
Could have waited until after next Monday.

Re: Cunningham
Yes, we could be meeting a fired up Saints now with maybe a new coach and/or some players trying to impress him or putting a marker down for any future coach appointment.
Re: Cunningham
Saints fans are chomping at the bit to buy Powell out even comments like Double his wage as Cas voted against the salary cap.

Re: Cunningham
Fans of St Helens, Widnes. Warrington and Huddersfield are having dreams about having Powell as their coach, then they wake up in a damp patch and realise he is happy with a league topping team, sell out games, fans who treat him like a hero and realise there is no reason for him to move!

Re: Cunningham
Wouldn't surprise me if they appointed McBanana.
Re: Cunningham
Powell is on the verge of something great at Cas he will not leave until the trophy cabinet has been prized open and rammed full

Re: Cunningham
Powell to Sts is a non-starter to me, I don't think that is too much to worry about.
In terms of replacing Cunningham, this is difficult, their expectations are extremely high. Someone like a Basil isn't bothered with root and branch, juniors and building for 2, 3, 4 years- he is a head figure.
You're either going to go big name leader, or, as we have, someone who belongs who isn't going to drive you to a GF this season necessarily, but builds something long term and makes permanent direction changes not tactical fixes.
