Turned down a 3yr deal with leeds.

Rumor as it he could be Warrington bound.

Terrible form by Leeds for basically throwing the young 17 year old lad under a bus with their press release for having the audacity to turn Gary Heatherington and the mighty Leeds down. Good luck to the kid wherever he ends up. He looks an outstanding talent and a far better prospect than Ash Golding in my opinion.

Totally different take on it from me. I cannot believe an unproven 17 year old can call the shots regardless of his potential on where he wants to play. He probably thinks he is bigger than the club and has been badly ill-advised by whoever manages him.
I applaud Leeds for sticking to their principles.

Caught in two minds about this.

One, part of me thinks you're a kid, you've played more game time this season that you imagined and have been OK without being world-class. You're nowhere near the finished article yet, so work hard and the rewards will come. Don't know if his agent has spotted an opportunity but if it's money he's gone because of then Leeds are well shot.

However, Leeds have just given Golding a 5 year deal making him first choice full-back and they're not likely to get rid of him any time soon. As such, I can see why Walker feels like he has no choice but to move on to try and establish himself elsewhere.

I don't believe he was calling the shots. He was more than likely making an informed decision based on the long contract that Golding has got. Also the days when Leeds can sign and keep all the best young talent in the area offering rubbish wages 'just because we are Leeds' are long gone. The kid is obviously ambitious and is self confident enough to make a move and for that I applaud him. It would have been more gratious from Heatherington to wish him luck for the future and thank him for his efforts I would have thought.

He's liked a tweet saying if they changed the coaching staff he'd be more inclined to stay. Maybe sees all the talented youngsters not getting a chance

They believe his future lies at half back, he doesn't

A brave choice, but, the RIGHT one for him. obviously!

I think it's absolutely fabulous that Leeds have had their noses pushed out of joint; Herherington most so.

Clubs make decisions on the value of players,if the doesn't match the players expectations and someone offers him a deal that does that where he goes.
Good luck to him.
As for Leeds their financial policy has stood them in good stead over the years with a good deal of success on the field and a successful business model and excellent facilities.

Some of the wording could be chosen more wisely, but I find it somewhat refreshing to a point that business is open.
A club say - he sees it differently to us, we have a plan for him but not one he wants.
A player says - I want to play where I think I am best and I need to go somewhere else to do that.

If it wasn't for some of the poor choice in wording, I would be happy with the whole thing.

Golding is the worse of the 3 for me. Hardaker and Jack are better than him in the full back position so Leeds are making some awful decisions.

Heard Leeds offered 20k a season, wire doubled it. Presume Leeds matched it. Lot of money for a kid.

Or he realised his options elsewhere were limited

Cas - Hardaker
Hull - Shaul
Saints - Lomax
Wigan - Tompkins (granted not the player he was but on a big deal)
Salford - O'Brien /Evalds plus SC issues maybe?
Hudds - Mamo
Wakefield - Grix (long deal?? ) Jowitt + cash issues?
Wire - Possible, have Russell who can play there but finished in the bottom 4 ??

Wire don't really have a fullback, I think they place Russell in the Eden mold. Handy but uncomfortable. I don't know what ratchford is tbh.
