saints v hull
Just watched the penalty kick from syed to win the game and 2 players from hull were in front of the kicker so why did the ref allow this kick good and the ref was in line with sneyd so he cannot say they was behind bad decision by the ref.
Re: saints v hull
Terrible decision to allow the kick to stand - you could clearly see they were off side.

Had a look at the rules to clarify but not really clear. IMO although they have encroached they can only be called offside if they encroach within 10m of a defending player or if they retrieve the ball themselves, as with a kick out of hand.
I think drop outs and kick offs are different but could be wrong. Typical RFL who don't have clear rules.

Bad decision, but it might keep Saints out of the top 4, so no complaints from me.
Rather Wakefield finished 4th than Saints. More chance of beating Wakefield in the semi than Saints.

I believe this is correct and if you can remember the controversial GF incident a few years back when Jordan Tansey scored a try after collecting a ball that had rebounded off the posts from an attempted penalty kick. In that incident he had clearly encroached within the ten but it wasn't picked up by the officials.HuddsTigers wrote:Had a look at the rules to clarify but not really clear. On this basis and as no one encroached within ten metres of the defender, no penalty.

According to Stuart Cummings the hull players were off side.
But what does he know.
I always thought players should be behind the ball when it's kicked.

Jordan Tansey wasn't for Leeds against Bradford?

Re: saints v hull
The law clearly states, under "Penalty Kick", the players must be behind the ball when it is kicked. So in Hull's case, the goal should be disallowed and a penalty to Saints...kickable!!!
Re: saints v hull
Plus the kick should have been a foot further back into Hulls half and not on the half way line.
