Leeds v St Helens

Post by Toffycat » 15 Jun 2018, 14:51

What is the best scenario for us. St Helens for me put leeds just about out of it in my opinion. 2 teams hitting form we still have to play giants and dragons. Maybe games not as easy as looked a few weeks ago.

Give them a good going over and really dent their morale confidence and a poor points difference can be a crucial factor when we get to the business end.

It's Hull and Wire (and maybe Wigan) who are thr most dangerous to us.

I'm not remotely concerned about Leeds at this stage. At 7 points I think the gap is, and with our respective run ins, I think that we'll have a great chance of being well away from them (fingers crossed!) come the Super 8s. It'd be nice for Saints to lose a few though just to bring them down a peg a bit and put them back within reach. We never know when they may have a blip and we need to be in touching distance to catch them.

Given Leeds' injury problems, I think it'll be a Saints win anyway.

Hull vs Wigan tomorrow I am more keen to watch. For me Saints have it wrapped up so a Saints win followed by Hull and us would be perfect this weekend. Leeds would be 8 behind and we would be joint 2nd with Wigan to play next week.

Saints will destroy Leeds, Shakie wakey will beat Warrington. Cas finish second play 4th and play saints in the final .. although think saints may lose to 4th in the semis, if it wire ?

If I’m honest, and as much as it pains me to say it, I’d much prefer a Wigan win. Only reason being is that I’d like to see us put a gap between us and 5th. Rather be in the top 4 in some comfort in Super 8s than having a dog eat dog scenario.

If that was the case, no reason we can't/won't finish second with our run in,I feel we could beat Wires but Saints would be a different scenario completely.

Would anyone want to go to OT and lose again, albeit in hopefully better circumstances and at least putting a performance in.

I agree with your first half Lofthouse.... I'd rather push for 2nd or 3rd and a home tie rather than settle for 4th and go to Saints.

As for the second half yes I would rather lose in a grand final than not make it at all.

Second this, rather get there and lose than not get there at all. Already booked weekend off work so looks like I'll be going regardless of who gets there.

I predict that I'll wait until the last couple of games in the Super 8s before predicting who will finish 1-4 and at least a week later before I predict who will be at OT. Bet I'm closer than a lot on here!

After watching the way Leeds kicked into touch I think coaches are working out how to beat Saints. Very much like Cas last Year towards the back of the season. Can Saints win the Grand final? or will they come unstuck.

Kicking high to the corners isn't the way Leeds kicked. Quite the opposite. And if BF hadn't been in such a rush to get the ball down Leeds would have won.

To idle to run the extra 10 yards.
