Greedy club owners get their way, how exciting,
we pay a bloke £300,000 grand a year and the best he can come up with is a failed structure we had a decade ago.
Wonder who will be the lucky clubs to get a trip twice a season to Canada and France? Oh the joys of the loop fixtures.

But that's already happening Sharlo, by the end of the eights Saints, Wigan and Hudds will have been to Catalan twice, London and Toulouse to Toronto twice, Fax to Toulouse twice whilst KR and Widnes will have done the triple crown of Cats, Toulouse and Toronto away.

Surely a better system would have been 14 teams in SL making 13 home fixtures, 1 up 1 down automatically, 2nd bottom v 2nd in the championship as the million pound game and an 8 team play off. Magic weekend the four first round play off games plus the million pound game and the ladies SL or Cup Final.

Challenge Cup Final moved to the slot currently taken by magic weekend.

All that should leave a couple of spare weeks, meaning either a) space for a mid season Test match or an origin game or both, or b) start the season 2 weeks later.

Simples.

So a nice and simple system has been scraped for a complicated system where we will play some clubs twice, some three times, and 1 of them four times. Then after all that pecker-eyed fixture list, we have an even more complicated play-off system.

Which unlucky club will travel to Toronto & Catalans twice or three times each season.

Perhaps they could play each other four times?
