I've backed Debece actually and Act of Valour in the other hurdle race. I'll look at the chases on the way over. I just don't look at the flat until the Dante meeting.

Re: May Tipping Comp
I've backed Debeece and Chesterfield from Haydock today (fancied Chesterfield for last few races can't see it been far away today).
Im keeping an eye on the Channon yard at present which seems to be going well so always worth a look for a bit of value (especially when Charlie Bishop is on board). He only looks to have 2 at Haydock today. One takes on Breath Caught (which looks a good thing to me). A bit of money has come in for the other, Mobsta now 9/1, in the 3.10. Unfortunately it's only a 2 place race which puts me off an each way punt. Plus Mobsta is 6 and the yard are having more succes with juveniles. Interestingly Bishop appears to have gone to Ascot for a single ride on anearly unrated juvenile at 25-1 for Channon instead of Haydock.
Quite like Mubtasim in the 4.20 although looks short enough in an open race. Again only 2 place or Arcanda at 9/1 would be tempting ew.

Bishop just won me a nice chunk . Had a £10 Double on Perfect Clarity 5/1 and Count Calabash 8/1 . Go on Charlie boy , backed from 12/1 to 9/2 FavKB80 wrote:

Nice. I caught County Calabash at 7/1. Largly based on Bishop, riding out of his skin at the moment. Only saw he had this ride after posting earlier, glad I had another look as I missed it 1st time.

Re: May Tipping Comp
Did anybody see Bet Victor's balls up yesterday? For about 40 minutes they had Catalans +48 at 10/11. Wish id have seen it at the time, would have had everything I had in the bank on it. A mate of mine had just short of £3000 on and they actually honoured the bet and paid him out. And sorry for the late updates, I'm just really busy with work at the minute, can't complain I suppose . Got a week off now so will update every evening.

He did well to get paid out most would have just voided the bet..

That's what I thought , but I think he got paid as the outcome would have been the same , had they done it properly (Whitehaven getting 48 start still means bet is up ) .tigerfeat wrote:He did well to get paid out most would have just voided the bet..

Re: May Tipping Comp
On Saturday I had Debece in the first which fell and brought down my back up choice, Wolf of Windlesham.
In the 2nd, Melinoe that didn't get a clear run but then stayed on into 2nd, not bad for its first run of the season and will likely win next time.
In the 3rd I had 4 bets all e/w. Act of Valour (RIP) that I reckon would have won had it not fallen. Chesterfield, Ashkoul and Optimus Prime; 2nd, 3rd & 4th!
In the next, Dancing Star which I think will have needed the run so is one to look for next time.
So Beloved - [REMOVED].
Breath Caught - slightly unlucky but still would have won if good imo.
Finally some proper jumping!
Looked in the car going over and Beggars Wishes stood out, couldn't believe it was 8/1 so I matched my Breath Caught stake e/w as I couldn't see 2 finishing in front of it and the only real danger I could see was Rocklander and that looked a pig in the paddock, hence the drift before the off, so I had a bit more on the win for Beggars Wishes. Could call it the winner turning in and could have won by 20l if it wanted - be interested in seeing what the handicapper does with it.
And in the last - I'm a big Jefferson fan anyway - but I'm sure I was the only one who had bothered looking because in November at Sedgefield Beggars Wishes had beaten a horse called Robbing The Prey by 1/2 a length off pretty much level weight. So RTP was always in my mind for this depending on how BW did previously. 17/2?! Unbe-[REMOVED]-lievable!! I had to look again for potential dangers in case I'd missed something obvious - nope. In I went, £100 to win on the course and £50 e/w online. Made all and never really looked like losing (bar idling on the run in, just to make me sweat!).
A lovely way to end the day!
Never been to Haydock before but it's a great course and the mixed meeting is a great idea imo - free tickets off the jockey club was a bonus! Highly recommended.

Re: May Tipping Comp
Well done mate , its great when you you study form and it all comes together . I can remember about 7 years ago ish , I was at Thirsk races and they had Bath on the big screen . A horse that had just won by about 8 lengths had previously beat a horse called Kakapuka by a nose 6 months prior. As it happened Kakapuka was running in the next at Bath . Next thinbthe heaven's opened and all the bookies boards started pkayig up so couldn't see a price .Went to the tote and had £10 each way and left it at that . The horse wins easy at 33/1 so happy days . Went to Tote to collect and was told they couldn't pay me out , the Tote price was an unbelievable 130/1 or something . Lovely jubbly.

And love your tactics of not tipping until we all go into minus , then sweeping in for the kill
Re: May Tipping Comp
Isn't it nice when that happens!
I'm basically having my annual month off until the flat season really gets going but will put on here if anything takes my fancy, but it's rare I even have a look in May unless I actually go to the races (or am 'between jobs'!)
It's turned out OK actually with having to plan to get to Kiev with Liverpool for the CL final!
