It doesn't matter which party is in as Labour and Tory are split down the middle as is the country and Corbyn would be having similar issues if he was in power as they are as split as the Tories !

The politics here is grinding the country to a halt - instead of bargaining with a strong hand, every persuasion is weakening it ! Total Idiots who can't see the wood for the trees !!

Whoever gets into power in the future will inherit such a weak position to trade from instead of a strong deal that should be in the making - that's the sad thing about the whole affair ! Nobody is gonna win from this the way it is being sabotaged left, right and centre !

Might as well we all stick our heads in a gas oven !

Rees Mogg and Yvette Cooper would be the leaders in my opinion to get this country moving again - Mogg is very astute and very intelligent to work out the plan for after Brexit and Yvette Cooper is a realist on a number of issues and not as stupid as Corbyn who get's shot down on his hypocritic principles time and again !

So the £1bn paid to the DUP was a good idea then?

That's another issue altogether and not on the topic of Brexit which you originally mentioned

They were that desperate to cling on to power to oversee this brexit thingy-oh that they pished £1bn up the wall to do it!

You assured us all (I'm sure it's in this thread somewhere) during last years GE campaign, that the Tories will have been working for months on Brexit to secure us a good deal - and I believe you insinuated I was daft for thinking otherwise!

It's all going swimmingly.

Don't think that was me - it was always going to be a tough ask from any party to drive Brexit through.

However is and would be in charge would have had similar discontent in the party, stay in politicians and especially stay in business men who have loads to lose in coming out, business moaning, House of Jackass Lords and the people who cannot accept that most people voted out and are trying to overturn a democratic vote which is what we are - a democratic country !

If this is overturned then we have lost being a democracy and it becomes a dictatorship and we are subserviant and we would have been dictated to and the strongest and usually unethical people who shout the loudest would bring this country into the dark ages - another re-run of Hitler maybe !!

I'm fearing the worst, so strap yourself in !!

Remember this?

And our wonderfully impartial BBC 'news' assuring us that nerve agents and chemicals were used? Ramping up the rhetoric that 'we' must avenge the attack and virtually go to war?

Well the initial OPCW report was published yesterday and the BBC headline reckons the attack 'was chlorine gas'.

Except the report doesn't actually say that - in fact, it doesn't say that chlorine gas was used, nor does it say that chlorine was found.

Still, not like the glorious BBC to make stuff up.

You will find that critical criticism of anything can work both ways mate whether you from your standpoint criticise the Tories or the BBC !!

What about criticising your glorious Labour party who lied (with America) about weapons of mass destruction and found none - and the fact that Dr. David Kelly's resulting death was suspicious who would/could/may have blown the whistle at the time - Now that's calling the kettle aint it !!

Truth hurts both ways !

Anyhow while I'm on my soapbox and you want perspective, consider this:-

We fought 2 world wars against Germany and the fact of the matter is that Germany is so rich today hiding in the shadows of the EU and if you don't think we have ultimately been conquered by EU stealth without a say on what we freely do then you need to wake up and smell the coffee ! I bet there's millions of brave dead soldiers turning in their graves as to where we now are as a country in being subservient !

Not to say that a Common market which us oldies voted in as good idea on Trade which is where it should have remained but this has turned out to be a sell out by various governments over these latter years and I for one didn't vote for our laws and immigration etc and even the size and shape of bananas being told what we can and can't do !!!

WE are all slaves to the EU Machine !! - open up your eyes you younger remaining lot !!

Spectacularly missing the point here.

Numerous times IN THIS THREAD you have posted phrases such as: "watch the news" & "look at the front page of the Mail" as if it was the truth. I merely pointed out that what is reported via these 'news' channels isn't necessarily factual, particularly the BBC, its a tory propaganda tool.

And plenty of people, myself and Jeremy Corbyn included, criticised Tony B-LIAR over it.

give over, the BBC is riddled with leftie sympathising presenters. The way they are allowed to snear every time they mention Trumps name is appalling

I think it's safe to say the right wingers in this conversation are showing their true colours but what annoys me most is any attempt to compare the 2 world wars with the way Europe is run today.

I'd even go as far to say the thousands of soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice would turn in their graves at this very comparison.

Let me put it this way, the French suffered just as much as we did during both wars but seem perfectly happy with the peace that European union has brought. Yes there are dissenting voices in both France and Germany but 70 odd years of peace seems a better option to me.

Still, it's good to see old Theresa May (or may not) has put her foot down to ruin us all...

It pains me to say that the "Maybot" has adopted the "a customs union" approach which is exactly what labour were advocating ! It's a sell out on democracy ! When the EU comes crashing down, which it will (it's starting to split now with Italy ready to dump the euro), I am awaiting a "told you so" moment with all these "no pairs of nuts" remainers !

Davies and now Johnson (just announced) has brought this to a definite head and it looks like there will be a change at the very top !

This Soft Brexit is not for me personally as we are not free of Europe interfering and the democratic vote was to leave irrespective of the consequences we have to face up to, be it in our favour with free trade or down a slippery slope - Obviously nobody would know until we did it - it's the jellyfish with no backbone remainers that have no nuts to give it a go ! There's a big wide world of trade out there and we have the business acumen, workforce, entrepreneurship etc here in the UK than can build a brighter future. Risk can be Reward - No Pain No Gain !

I keep banging on about Rees Mogg taking over and I think we would get somewhere as he is very astute, intelligent and sees the wider picture. Same for Y Cooper for Labour who has a common sense approach also.

The EU is a failing system ready to collapse as Greece, Italy,Spain Portugal and the former Soviet countries do not have a pot to p.ss in ! What is £350M a week would very soon become £500M a week just to keep the EU afloat and those Brussels (with the Germans pulling strings in the background) have still got us stitched up and we are slaves to their bidding !! That's why most soldiers would be turning in their graves as we have won the battle and lost the economic war. WE HAVE BEEN IDIOTS to allow our laws and immigration to be decided in Brussels and tag all sorts of red tape on doing trade with the rest of the world whe this wasn't in the original common market decisions.

We are shooting ourselves in the foot with this soft brexit - all to pacify those that have vested interests within europe like for example airbus (I'd love to strap a few wings on their directors and f..k/fly them off to Europe as Boeing will pick up our 40,000 workers who are skilled and they are already chomping at the bit ! it's idle threats as Airbus won't want to dismantle, move and retrain workers in the EU as it would cost millions !!

The country will pay a heavy price if Corbyn, McDonnell, Abbott and Thornberry not to mention the rest of the light weight Labour front bench get into power. My god they used to point to Venezuela as a model of socialist success, it’s a basket case just as we will be. If the British public are stupid enough to vote that lot in we deserve everything that’s coming.
