How will we go?

Post by Swagger » 14 Sep 2018, 20:25

Now that Benny Roberts looks to have his fitness back for 80mins but Trueman and Gale will play the 80 unless injured how should we go?

For me I would look at playing Roberts at centre over Webster and go with 4 forwards on the bench. 1 of which can cover in backs like Wardle.

This obviously depends on injuries etc... But if we get a bit of luck from now until seasons end how is your 17?

Peter M
Eden
Shenton
Roberts
Clare/Minikin - can't choose
Trueman
Gale
Watts
McShane
Millington
McMeekan
Moors
Massey

JSL
Clark
Milner
Wardle/Holmes

I think this is our best 17. Just can't choose between which Winger to play.... Also last bench spot all depends on which one of them is fully fit.

I wouldn't start Roberts at centre or even think about him being a centre next season id have him on bench if minikins not going to play centre the big call will be minikin or Clare

Tbh I thought the balance of the team last night was spot on.
With trueman and Roberts at 6/7 we used both edges instead of mainly the left.
Definitely wouldn’t use Roberts at center, play him from the bench, when gale is fit.
We are slowly getting there, all bodes well for the main attraction.
Just pray we don’t pick up any injuries between now and the semi.

Oh yeah no doubt Roberts is a half back and he looked good playing in his normal position last night

Thought Roberts had his best game for a very long time last nite so it is now up to Gale to get up to speed and force his way in.
I would still stick with Webster in the centre with Wardle in the back row and Moors back on the bench which looks a little light without the big man,, Jake deserves to end his time with us in the front line not in the stands.

A fit Gale will be the first name on the team sheet. Having watched Wigan last night we will need him to crack their awesome defence

Mainly forwards as there back line looked first choice.

About as many as Wigan, half a dozen, but Wigan had the bigger misses I feel.

Both half backs and starting props were missing for wire along with Murdoch Masilla.

My team for the semi-final (assuming Holmes isn't fit):

1. Mata'tuia
2. Clare
3. Wardle (harsh on Webster, but I think he looks a little suspect defensively, hence I'd go for Wardle)
4. Shenton
5. Eden
6. Trueman
7. Gale
8. Massey
9. McShane
10. Watts
11. JSL
12. McMeekan
13. Milner

Roberts
Millington
Moors
Clark
