Million pound game today sees 2 teams that imo bring nothing to super league. Each team already loses around 50 to 100 grand a year with catalans not bringing any support. Next year will be the same with Toronto. Now in the current climate is there any team that can afford to lose so much revenue from zero away support? And on another note following the laughable crowd at Wembley this year imagine this. ..... old trafford next year. Toronto v Catalan final. How many upper tiers will be closed for that?

Whilst Toronto don't bring any revenue in terms of gate receipts what they do bring is an owner with plenty of ambition and a truck load of cash, they also bring the potential for new alternative commercial and television avenues

Would any other championship team bring a big away support?
For each team to be 50k down you're implying that someone else (be it Widnes, Leigh, London, Halifax, Fev, Toulouse or anyone else) would take at least 2,000 fans to every away game. These teams all struggle to get 2,000 home fans to a home game.

Agree with you re Bradford not so sure with York. But the first post was about who's going to be in SL next year, not in 2 or 3 year's time.

Toronto have a fair few UK based fans and they also put bums on seats in terms of home fans. I went to the Fax game v Toronto partly because it was against Toronto.

Can't fault the performance from London, been an outstanding defensive effort from them

They played brilliantly. If like to see them chase their players who come through the system. Lms and mcmeeken to start with. Otherwise they'll just continue going up and down. It has to be sustainable.

Don't want to lose mcmeeken but he could be marquee player for them and good forr the game.

I received this text about 2 weeks ago but ignored it and assumed it was rubbish until now

News you may or may not know Paul Rowley has left Toronto and Brian McDermot is the new coach along side his coaching of the American national side. Rowley it is said that he was seeing a women over there and his wife found out and gave him an ultimatum so he decided to keep on the best side of his wife

Make of that what you will.
