Re: Rankin
only his second game give the lad at least four games probation . My only concern when we swapped deal for him was it more to off load wardle then bring in quality stand off . specially when he could not get in a poor huddesfield team at the time . If don't work out what somebody else said we still have gales money .
Re: Rankin
Rankins in for it this week cos Shenton scored 2
Be shenton again if he drops a pass against London.
Or maybe we can go back to Slating Massey

God knows how many it will be when we actually lose a game
Re: Rankin
Hahaha theres a lot of drama queens on here, im not saying sack rankin n ship him out but i do think Roberts did more in the short space of time he was on the field n i think hes the better 6.
Thats just my opinion no need for the meltdowns.

Re: Rankin
Did Roberts do more or better organising than Rankin, better kicking game than Rankins, lose the ball more than Rankin? Much more to Rankin's game than all the sparkly stuff. I suppose DP hasn't noticed it either, but he does select him!

You should know by now that even though this is a forum, rule number 1 is "you are not allowed an opinion".jackknife wrote:Hahaha theres a lot of drama queens on here, im not saying sack rankin n ship him out but i do think Roberts did more in the short space of time he was on the field n i think hes the better 6.

Re: Rankin
For me Robert's and Trueman are our starting halfs now and Rankin was filling in while Robert's had a knock but after Thursdays game Robert's look dangerous (apart from the daft pass/knock on) i haven't really seen Rankin do much and our right side looks none existent in attack. Maybe Rankin will have a stormer against London, hopefully.cogito ergo sum wrote:Did Roberts do more or better organising than Rankin, better kicking game than Rankins, lose the ball more than Rankin? Re: Rankin
For me rankin is finding his feet still remember how long took Roberts ect to understand how we play. Against hull it showed that Benny may be what were looking for in that right centre roll definitely added some spark that Minkin had quiet found yet think was a mistake not letting Minkin play centre Vs Leeds if that is where we truly see him playing

Re: Rankin
Its 2 games in to the season, won 2 games and players will need time to get up to speed and Rankin is one of those players.
To beat Catalans and Hull is not a bad effort because when those 2 improve it will be a different story.
Couple of weeks off now to get the injuries looked at and work at the plays and we then have 2 games that we should be winning comfortably. 4 from 4 anyone?

Re: Rankin
Have to agree with this, I was disappointed with the number of tackles he fell off but also 1 on 1 if the guy is losing his grip we should have lads running in to support.Ladytiger wrote:And on last nights display you think Roberts deserves to start and drop rankin to the bench or drop him.. god how fickle are you give rankin a chance his defence against Catalans was fantastic needs time to gel with the team
I was impressed with his D against Catalan too, showed he’s happy to get stuck in and seemed strong, guess time will tell if he can get some consistency about his defence.
Re: Rankin
I thought shenton needed to retire also ? That was last year's big debate ...... Fickle

Re: Rankin
To be fair, Shenton has really stepped it up after some questionable performances last year. Had a decent back end of 2018 and carried that good form in 2019.scottiger wrote:I thought shenton needed to retire also ? That was last year's big debate ...... Fickle
Re: Rankin
Does any body think with gale and ellis out we should have given qlt a one year contract. Had some good games for cas at half back last year specially that great win at warrington. I think he offers more then rankin does ,being Halifax best player reading reports this year.SREGITSAC wrote:Have to agree with this, I was disappointed with the number of tackles he fell off but also 1 on 1 if the guy is losing his grip we should have lads running in to support.Ladytiger wrote:And on last nights display you think Roberts deserves to start and drop rankin to the bench or drop him.. god how fickle are you give rankin a chance his defence against Catalans was fantastic needs time to gel with the team

Did nothing wrong for us, you gotta think Rankin is the better prospect based on age.... if he settles in well and shows his ability!flow wrote:Does any body think with gale and ellis out we should have given qlt a one year contract. Re: Rankin
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. If we’d given QLT a deal and those guys had not gotten injured, folk on here be moaning we were wasting our quota spot on a player hardly in the 19, bit like they did with Jy last year.flow wrote:Does any body think with gale and ellis out we should have given qlt a one year contract. Re: Rankin
Pretty sure QLT didn't want to go full time this year??? Too much for his body.
Rankin will keep getting better. My issue isn't with him. It's with our right side attack in Minikin and Clare. Not good enough.
